About Good For You Girls:
Where does the time go?
As moms we would do anything to keep our kids safe right? Well for me that “anything” meant starting Good For You Girls in 2008.
As a veteran of the natural products industry I was very aware of the controversy of chemical based skin care. Both my daughters had severe asthma and sensitive skin issues as babies so we never had any options to use anything but the cleanest products.

No matter how much we would love to keep them little Mother Nature has other ideas. As my daughter’s needs changed, I recognized there were no products I felt were safe, effective or age appropriate for them. Girls today are bombarded with beauty products that are loaded with chemicals and synthetic ingredients. I know it sounds sort of goofy but Good For You Girls was a calling to me. Honestly, it is a ton of work but no matter how long the days and the crazy pace, I have never had any regrets.

As mothers we have such an amazing opportunity to teach our daughters how to love and respect themselves. We can easily forget just how much our words and actions shape the way they feel today and the future they will create tomorrow. Good For You Girls to me is more than just skin care, it helps us show the girls in our lives that we celebrate and respect their changing needs as young women. One of my most favorite compliments is when a mom tells me she wishes her mom had Good For You Girls when she was young. Raising daughters comes with so much responsibility; I hope Good For You Girls provides some comfort knowing you have a friend helping to take care of her skin.

Much Love!

I was sent the 3-Step Skincare Starter Kit and a sample size of their Body Lotion to review. My daughter gets eczema rashes from harsh products, so I was excited for her to try it. Also, she just turned 7, so it's the perfect time to start a skincare routine that will help her care for her skin for the rest of her life.

The products came prettily packaged in pink tissue, and the 3-Step Skincare Starter Kit came in it's own zippered travel bag, perfect for an overnight trip.

I love that there are instructions on the back for order of use and directions. When I was young, I didn't have a guide in these sorts of things, and a lot of skincare products and their uses mystified me. This would be an excellent reminder for girls just learning, or even for single dads who wouldn't have a clue how to use them!

Step 1: Gel Cleanser
It's recommended to use a small, dime-sized amount of the products, so a little really does go a long way. The cleanser is a rich gel that foams up nicely. It has a light, fruity scent that's not overpowering and it leaves the skin feeling clean without drying.

Step 2: Purifying Toner
The toner is applied with a cotton ball, but comes in a handy spray bottle, so I can see how it could be a great facial refresher for hot days. It's also very lightly scented, and helps to fight bacteria naturally in your pores without the burning you can get with alcohol-based products.

Step 3: Moisturizer
Again, use a dime-sized amount of the moisturizer to help control excess oil production and naturally nourish your skin to keep it healthy and soft. The moisturizer has a thicker texture, but spreads well and doesn't feel heavy. It's also very lightly scented and leaves your skin feeling refreshed.

Body Lotion- Sweet Honeydew
I have to say that first, I love the scent of this lotion. It's a sweet, fruity scent, but not a cloying food-scent, if that makes sense. I avoid a lot of fruit scents because instead of reminding me of delicate fruits and florals, it reminds me of overripe, rotting fruit. Truth. This smells like a delicate honeydew and light floral mix and I love it. It's a light moisturizer that would be perfect for the Summer months.

So, A+ for Good For You Girls. They have aced all-natural skincare with a line of organic, gluten-free, and Vegan options for parents who want to avoid chemical absorption for their children.
