Southern Mom Loves: Rose Gold is Hot for Fall; 3 Ways to Wear It

Rose Gold is Hot for Fall; 3 Ways to Wear It

Friday, October 23, 2015

I received a Jord wood watch in order to facilitate an honest review. All opinions are my own.

If you're looking for the hottest metal finish for Fall 2015, it's Rose Gold

Created in Russia during the nineteenth century by mixing copper with yellow gold, it became an instant hit as Russian Gold. It had a resurgence in the Victorian era and again in the 1920's, but until recently other metals have taken over in popularity. Now it's back with a vengeance and what better season for Rose Gold than Fall? This warm hue will compliment all of this Fall's most popular apparel colors and keep you looking up to date and pretty in pink.

Jord Wood Watches was kind enough to send me a gorgeous watch to try out, and of course I chose a Rose Gold face. This watch is the Sydney Series Chronograph in Maple and Rose Gold, and it retails for $199. I love the combination of the light Maple wood (so unique!) and the on-trend face, and the bezel inlaid in swarovski crystal gives it a bit more oomph.

Each Jord watch face is made from sapphire crystal glass for scratch-resistance and durability and comes packaged in a gorgeous wooden box ready for gifting. Yes, please. Here are 3 ways to wear this warm, rosy metal:

1. Pair it with Lights

If you want to make a more delicate hue pop, pair it with even lighter colors. Wear your Rose Gold jewelry and accessories with whites or lights to get the biggest bang for your fashion efforts.

2. Wear it with Brights

One of Fall's hottest fashion colors is one of my all-time favorites: Cobalt. While your Rose Gold pieces won't be the center of attention, they will accentuate any combination of Fall colors and leave you looking chic and put-together.

3. Mix your Metals and Textures

One of my favorite ways to wear metals is to mix them with other metals and textures. Wearing a Rose Gold necklace? Layer it with silver and/or yellow gold chains as well. Rose Gold watch? Wear it with a necklace in a similar hue, but in a different material. Mix metals with beads, shell, or woods, which is another reason I'm gone for these watches; They take great colors and textures and mix them up for you. Boring they are not.

You can find the Sydney wood watch in Maple and Rose Gold that I'm wearing above on the Jord website. They have lots of wood and metal color combos, so you're sure to fall in love with one or two (or seven.)

Are you a fan of Rose Gold? What is your favorite way to style it? Which of the Jord wood watches is your favorite? I love to hear your comments!
