Get Your Fall Cleaning Checklist! {Free Printable + a Giveaway!}
Monday, October 30, 2017This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com. All opinions are my own.
There's a reason that Spring Cleaning is so popular; It's a time when the house can be freshened up after a long, cold Winter, but the same can be done after a long, hot Summer, too. The weather is finally a bit cooler, so it's the perfect time to do some Fall cleaning to get the house ready for the holiday season and it will make your Spring cleaning chores a bit easier, too. I've got a great list of Fall cleaning chores and recommendations along with a printable checklist to help you get it all done.
This is a more comprehensive list than you might need, for example, if you live in an apartment and don't have a garage to organize or a lawn to mow, so just use the entries you need and cross the rest off your list. It'll look like you've done so much already. ;) Hey, I'll take cleaning motivation wherever I can get it!
Check out the Fall Cleaning Checklist below along with some great new products I got to try out through Babbleboxx. I'll tell you what I thought, where to find them, and even give you discount codes and a giveaway. You can get the printable version of the Fall Cleaning Checklist at the bottom of the post to help get you going!

Kitchen:
I received some products from Scrub Daddy to help with my kitchen cleaning chores. I've used the Scrub Daddy before, so I knew I would love the Scour Daddy sponges and the Sponge Caddy is super-useful.
The Sponge Caddy has universal, dual suction cups that adhere securely to any clean smooth surface (can be used in your shower too!) It drains wet sponges right into your sink and is top rack dishwasher safe if it gets a bit dirty.
The Scour Daddy maintains his shape under pressure and has a convenient loop for storage/drying, is scratch-free and doesn't absorb odors, and comes in multiple colors for organizing which sponge you use where. Find out more about them here.
To help with my floor cleaning chores, I was sent the O-Cedar: ProMist Max Spray Mop.
You guys, YES. I had been using another spray mop, but you have to buy the disposable pads and cleaning solution that will fit it. This baby has a machine washable, reusable microfiber mop head, so no more buying extra pads. The mop head is bigger to cover more surface area in one swipe and the mop head flips 180° so you can just keep on going for quicker and more efficient cleaning.
You fill the reservoir with your own cleaning solution, so that not only saves you money, you'll know what's in it and since you aren't making any waste, it's eco-friendly, too. I like that you can fill it with different cleaning solutions for different surfaces like wood or stone. This is a quick cleaning tool that I'm loving.

I used the Odor Eliminator sprays (they came in Lavender and Eucalyptus + Mint scents) to get rid of stubborn odors and it was amazing! I sprayed them in all of our tennis shoes and it works almost immediately. I even pre-treated stinky towels before washing and it completely got the smell out!!!
They can be sprayed on sports equipment, in lockers, bathrooms, garbage cans, and in pet areas, too. They'll get rid of any stinky skunk smell and even a smoke smell and use natural essential oils, but it is also available in a fragrance-free version.
PowerOE Cleaner + Odor Eliminator was perfect in the kitchen. It's powered by Thymol, a natural antiseptic and an alternative to bleach and is free of harsh chemicals and solvents. This one came in a Pine scent and I used it to spray down our sink to keep those food smells at bay.
It was also awesome getting the smell off of a counter that I spilled jalapeno vinegar on. I cleaned it with warm, soapy water, but I could still smell it and this spray got the smell right out. <3

Misc:
- Have ventilation system cleaned
- Replace burnt out light bulbs (opt for CFL or LED Bulbs)

- Change Heating and Air system filter(s)
- Touch up paint
- Insulate windows
The last product I was sent to try out was the Duck® Roll-On® Window Kit. Our home is 100+ years old and doesn't have storm windows, so winter window weatherization is a must for us. I've used other window kits, but I didn't know Duck brand made one, so I was eager to check it out.
If you haven't used one of these window insulation kits before, they will help keep your home warmer by eliminating drafts and save you on your electricity bill, but they're a PITA to use. This one promises that it's easier, so I gave it a try and took some photos.
First thing that is different is that it comes with a pre-taped edge for simple roll-on application. You usually have to start by taping and hanging the top edge. It requires no measuring and still fits snugly to your indoor window frames to provide an airtight seal.
The second thing that I LOVED was that you just roll the folded sheet across the window and unfold it downwards. GENIUS! Other kits you have to unfold and try to manipulate this huge, billowing sheet of plastic. It ended up being crystal clear and you can't even tell it's there unless you look at an angle.
You can find Duck Roll-On Window Kits here. Check out this video to see step-by-step installation instructions.
Outside:
- Last mow of the season
- Trim bushes and shrubbery
- Rake leaves
- Clean and organize garage
- Clean out gutters
- Clean out light fixtures
- Clean patio furniture
- Clean and cover grill
- Sweep patios, porches, and sidewalks
- Wash windows
- Powerwash exterior of home/garage
- Touch up any peeling paint
- Inspect roof shingles and replace if necessary
This list will help you get your home holiday-ready in a hurry and will make your Spring cleaning that much easier. Print out the pdf version of the checklist here. You can check your chores off as you complete them right on the paper or if you have a Home Binder you can slip it into a sheet protector and check off your chores with a dry-erase marker and use it year after year.
