I got my Essential Oil Recipe Box for January and I was super-excited to unbox it! It's full of natural skincare recipes to help combat this harsh winter weather. I love making natural products and these are all about relaxing, renewing, and healing; Just my speed for 2019. I'll show you everything that I got in the unboxing and give you the recipe for the Rejuvenating Lip Balm, plus show you how to make it step-by-step below!
If you didn't catch my last (and first) unboxing for the Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box, it's a monthly subscription box that encourages you to create a natural, healthy home by giving you everything you need to make your own natural beauty, cleaning, and home fragrance products, one month at a time. Each box is a $150 value for only $39/month!
On top of that, you get the FREE Big Bonus Box every 6 months that contains all of the extras you'll need over the next 6 months, like extra glass jars, bottles, and roll-ons, liquid carrier oils, and packages like beeswax and solid coconut oil. The whole shebang is a fabulous value!
Essential Oil Recipe Box Unboxing-January 2019
First out are a sheet of stickers. These come in handy labeling all of your jars and bottles for the month's recipes. It also comes with little bottle-top labels for your 4 essential oil bottles.
This month's fab 4 are Farewell Scars, Bergamot, Ravensara, & Myrrh 100% pure Essential Oils.
To give you an idea of how much of a discount you're getting, here are the prices of the oils individually:
- Farewell Scars 15ml - $17.99
- Bergamot 15ml - $13.99
- Ravensara 15 ml - $14.99
- Myrrh 5 ml- $17.99
That's a total of $64.96 in essential oils alone!
Each box also comes with 6 recipe cards, and with the theme of Natural Skincare, the recipes included are:
- Lip Rejuvenating Lip Balm
- Calming and Uplifting Body Butter
- Relaxing Textured Massage Bar
- Skin Renewal Sugar Scrub
- Skin Healing Booster Roll On
- Confidence Diffuser Blend
Next out was this adorable flexible silicone mold. I love that they send molds that can be used again and again! Besides the massage bar, this would also be great for melt-and-pour soaps. They would all come out stamped "100% Hand Made". <3
It came with 2 lip balm tubes (the included recipe makes 2, so you can keep one and gift one!)
Last out was a package of Tapioca Pearls for the massage bar. There are enough here to do a few!
For the Lip Balm, you'll need a few things from your Big Bonus Box: the almond oil, the solid coconut oil, and the package of beeswax.
If you don't have a double boiler, don't worry! You can set one up by placing a glass or metal bowl over a small pot with a few inches of water in the bottom. You bring the water to a boil and place the bowl with your ingredients in it on top of the pot. This will gently melt your ingredients. :)
