Hi, y'all, I'm back with an unboxing of the IndieStitch Box for March 2025! This month, we'll be sewing a beautiful flowy dress that will be perfect for the warmer weather. I also have an exclusive discount code just for my readers and a spoiler for the April pattern. Let's unbox it!
About IndieStitch
IndieStitch is a monthly subscription box for home sewists that provides you with everything you need to complete a beginner-friendly clothing project.
Sit back, sew, and savor the joy of making. We handle the sourcing so you can focus on the stitching. Expertly curated women’s clothing projects, premium fabrics, and community support—all in one box.
That’s what makes IndieStitch so special. When you open up your box, you’ll have exactly what you need to get back to sewing for you.
Subscription Options
As you can see above, there are 12-month, 6-month, and 1-month plans and the cost per box goes down with the longer plans. This year we get a new option to pre-pay for the plans for an added discount!
Plus, you can use the code SOUTHERNMOM50 to get 50% off your first box on the 6 and 12-month plans! That's a HUGE savings!
How Does It Work?
- When you sign up for IndieStitch, you'll provide your size range for the printed pattern that comes in your box every month. The size ranges are incredibly inclusive!
- Once subscribed, you'll receive an email at the end of the month (usually around the 28th) to choose the fabric for the next month's pattern.
- Your box ships out around the 4th of each month.
- You can choose to sew it up on your own using the pattern instructions, use the video tutorials provided in the IndieStitch Membership Hub, and/or join the Sew Along that happens in the IndieStitch Facebook group starting on the Monday around the 14th.
- If on a monthly plan, your membership will renew for the next month between the 13th - 15th.
- The next month's pattern is revealed on the Second Week of the Month on all social media channels (or here on my blog 😉.)
- If you don't like the pattern for the month (or maybe you already own it), you can switch it with a past project you didn't get or swap the pattern out for extra fabric or notions. That way, you'll always get something you'll love to sew!
There is also an IndieStitch shop where you can buy some of the past project boxes, fabrics, and sewing notions.
If you'd like to see some of their past boxes, check out all of my IndieStitch unboxings here.
Monthly Free Gift!
If you complete the current month's project and post it to the IndieStitch Sew Along Facebook group before the end of the month, you will earn a free gift in your next box! Following along and seeing everyone's projects in the group is a great part of the box experience and getting a little gift in your next box is so sweet.
March 2025 Pattern
The pattern we're making this month is the Joni Dress by Pattern Scout.
Joni is a peasant-style blouse and dress with raglan sleeves and a square neckline. The neckline is gathered with a drawstring that ties at the center front bodice. The bodice and sleeves are gathered with shirring to add shaping. With its romantic style and comfortable fit, Joni will be your date night go-to or cottage-casual staple for day-to-day wear.
VERSION A is a blouse (hemmed approx. 4 inches (10 cm) below the natural waist)
VERSION B is a mini dress with pockets (hemmed above the knees)
TECHNIQUES INCLUDED IN THIS PATTERN:
- shirring fabric with elastic thread
- in-seam pockets (Version B only)
- full bust adjustment (optional)
I absolutely love the style of this dress and I know my daughter is going to want to steal it, too!
March 2025 Fabric Choices
This month we have 5 breezy fabric options:
- Light Blue Floral - Poly Cey Printed - 100% Polyester
- Navy Floral - Gauze Print - 100% Polyester
- Sage Floral - Cey Linen - 100% Polyester
- Fuchsia Airflow - Airflow - 100% Polyester
- Dark Gray Airflow - Airflow Cey - 100% Polyester
We had some very pretty choices this month and I really had a hard time deciding. I usually gravitate towards black, white, gray, or another solid, so this month I made sure to pick a print (and the bright fuchsia as the 2nd choice.) I'll show you which one I got below!
IndieStitch March 2025 Unboxing
It looks like we have an IndieStitch box redesign.
Inside the box, the card gives you all of the information you need for the month's project, including a code to download the instructions + a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box.) It also gives you the current month's Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you to the sewing hub for video tutorials. The flip side details all of the items in your box.
This is such a soft, slinky, drapey, floaty fabric! I really love these colors for spring and the print is a small ditzy floral that is almost a Prarie floral, which is very "in" right now. I really love the feel of the fabric, the colors, and the print.
Next out are the notions to help us make our pattern this month. We have a spool of matching Gütermann thread, two universal needles for wovens in the correct size for our fabric weight, and 3 spools of elastic thread for shirring.
Next out is our printed pattern, the Joni Dress by Pattern Scout. It's printed on thick copy shop paper so it's extra durable.
Hot Tip: If you do a lot of sewing for family and friends, don't cut your original pattern. Use paper tape (in the First Aid section) to tape together sheets of white gift tissue paper. You can use these to trace off and cut out just the size you need and leave all of the other sizes intact. Tissue paper is super-cheap (check your local dollar store!) and if you use paper tape, you can iron the creases out of your pattern if needed. That comes in handy if you fold the pattern for storage and need to use it again later.
Next out is our 1st "extra", 2 rolls of Washi Tape. These are so pretty! I received a green forest tape roll and a watercolor floral roll. I think I'll take a tip from the sew-along videos and use this tape to mark the "wrong" side of my fabric pieces after cutting.
Next out is our 2nd extra, a 6" Square Acrylic Ruler. This is going to come in very handy when marking the sewing lines for our shirring on this month's dress!
Last out is our 3rd extra, a set of 4 Heat-Erasible Markers. Again, this is going to be perfect for marking our shirring lines! Amber thinks of everything!
____________________________
That was the IndieStitch March 2025 box. This dress style is right up my alley and the fabrics were so beautiful! We have everything we need to make this dress including the all of the tools we need to do the shirring. I love getting everything we need in one box!

The pdf pattern is a beginner (2/10) level and moderately easy to sew. Takes 2-3 hours to finish (time may vary depending on your skills, equipment and supplies).
