Hi, guys! I'm here with 2 unboxings for the Allure Beauty Box this month. You may have noticed that I didn't do an April unboxing; That's because my April box got lost in the mail. It arrived a little after my May box did so I'll show you what was in both boxes. These boxes included some great brands, including John Frieda, Natasha Denona, Briogeo, Laneige, & St. Tropez, among others. Plus, I have spoilers for the June box!

Let's start with April's box...

Allure Beauty Box - April 2019

April's box included a little card to say that one of the Briogeo products was in short supply so they included 2 others to try.

I understand, but those two products were something I was really looking forward to trying in tandem.  I get terribly frizzy hair in the summer, so anti-frizz products are something I try out a lot of. I haven't found a solid solution for the crazy humidity here but I'm still hopeful. 😉

This month's box was a collab with Carli Bybel, a beauty YouTuber. The discount codes included in this box were:

  • laurageller.com: Enter ALLURE at checkout to receive 20% off your order, 3/1/19 - 8/1/19
  • natashadenona.com: Enter NDsunsetXallure at checkout to receive 30% off the Sunset Eyeshadow Palette, 4/15/19 - 6/15/19
  • luxiebeauty.com: Enter ALLURING at checkout to receive 20% off your order, 4/15/19 - 6/15/19
  • ulta.com: Enter ALLURE20 at checkout to receive 20% off your order, 4/15/19 - 6/15/19
  • briogeohair.com: Enter ALLURE15 at checkout to receive 15% off your order, 4/15/19 - 6/15/19

This box came in another of those super-cute makeup bags, this one clear with the screw-head brass snaps.

First out was one of the replacement products for the Briogeo Farewell Frizz Spray, a .88 oz. sample of the Style Vegetal Texture Spray by Rene Furterer. "Featuring Cakile extract and Vitamin B5, this lightweight dry styling spray adds texture, volume, and shine without a powdery residue, and is ideal for creating tousled looks and adding “grip” for braids and up-dos."

The second was our other sub, a 1 oz. sample of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Creme, which looks like it's being rebranded as the Secret Weapon Touch Up Creme. Allure says this one "wipes out frizz on both curly and straight hair and is so light, it can be reapplied throughout the day without making hair slick."

I used a finishing cream from the Frizz Ease line years and years ago and liked it, but at the time my hair was not as rough/dry and it made me a look bit greasy at the end of the day. I gave this one a go and it worked beautifully and smelled amazing. It's very light, almost like a "dry" oil, but took down my frizz immediately.

Next out was a .75 oz. sample of the Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection and Heat Protectant Creme. I can't wait to give this one a try. I love to do a blowout, but the humidity is so bad here in the summer that I've had to take a break from blow-drying. It's just not worth the trouble to get it smooth when it's just going to last an hour or two, if that. We'll see how this works.

Next out was a Natasha Denona Mono Eye Shadow in Morgana, a duo-chrome red with gold. This is one of the shades in her gorgeous high-end Sunset Eyeshadow Palette and as far as I can tell, this is an exclusive because you can't buy this eyeshadow mono anywhere. It's really beautiful and I've heard good things about the brand so I can't wait to give it a try!

Next out was the Luxie 231 Small Tapered Blending Brush in Rose Gold. I could always use another eyeshadow blending brush so I'm happy to add this to my collection.

Next was a full-sized Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Deep Purple from Laura Gellar. I'm not usually a colorful eyeliner girl, but this purple is deep enough for me to be comfortable with. I especially like stay-put eyeliners and reading the rave reviews, I think this will become a summer staple.

Lastly, the box contained a 2-Pack sample of the Vita Liberata Phenomenal Organic Tan Infused Cloths (they usually come in 8- and 16-packs).  When I tan, it is with self-tanners. I have gotten enough sun damage over the years to completely stop tanning, so I'll be giving these a go soon.

That was April's Allure Beauty Box. Except for the shipping problem, which was not Allure's fault, this was a great box!

Now for the current box, which is still available until the end of the month.

Allure Beauty Box - May 2019

If last month's box was a bit hair-centric, this one is more skin-centric. The discount codes for May were:

  • us.laneige.com: Enter ALLURE20 at checkout to receive 20% off Water Bank products, 5/5/19 - 7/5/19
  • us.amorepacific.com: Enter ALLURE15 at checkout to receive 15% off Youth Revolution Radiance Creme & Masque, Treatment Cleansing Foam, Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme, or Vintage Single Extract Essence, 5/1/19 - 7/1/19
  • modelco.com: Enter ALLURE19 at checkout to receive 30% off any full-sized product (exclusions apply), 5/1/19 - 7/1/19
  • laritzy.com: Enter ALLURE20 at checkout to receive 20% off your order, 5/1/19 - 8/31/19
  • evolue.com: Enter ALLURE20 at checkout to receive 20% off a Lue by Jean Seo Skin Solution Set, 5/1/19 - 7/1/19

It came in a different kind of cosmetics bag this time. It was still a see-through plastic, but this one had no snaps, but a flap that tucked in a band. Meh. I really liked the previous series of bags, so this one was a bit of a disappointment.

First out is a .2 oz. sample of the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream. I love Laneige and currently use their Water Sleeping Mask. This is a product I haven't tried yet, so yay!

Next out was a .8 oz. sample of the St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Gel. It's supposed to give you a natural-looking glow in 3 hours.

It also came with an Applicator Mitt from St. Tropez, so that was pretty cool.

Next out was a .2 oz. sample of the Youth Revolution Radiance Creme & Masque from Amorepacific. This is a crazy-high-end cream, so I'm excited to give it a try!

Out next is a full-sized liquid eyeshadow from Model Co. This is the Eyelites Metallic Eyeshadow in St. Barts.

The color was so gorgeous I wanted to try it out immediately. I've seen a lot of these come out recently after Huda Beauty released a line of beautiful, blendable shades. I applied it on my bare lids and it was gorgeous. I loved the color but I had to pack it on a bit to get full coverage. By the end of the day, it was cracking and flaking in my crease. Does anyone else use liquid eyeshadows? Is this common on bare skin? Let me know in the comments because I'm hesitant now to purchase any.

Next out was a full-sized Lue by Jean Seo Erase Cleansing, Exfoliating, & Brightening Powder. This is unique. The website says "Made with non-fat milk powder, finely milled whole grain oats, and a touch of magnesium carbonate, this perfectly pH balanced gommage clears complexion, balances skin, and leaves it radiant and smooth." Hmmm...can't wait to give it a try!

Last out was a full-sized Laritzy Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Vibe.

It's a pretty color, so we'll see.

Okay, guys, that was the full May Beauty Box from Allure. What did you think?
