Hi, y'all, I'm back with an unboxing of the IndieStitch Box for April 2026! This month, we'll be sewing up a (super-versatile) button-up knit top that can go from cropped to dress-length, and your fabric choice can take it from summer to winter. I'll show you everything that came in this month's box + I have the current promotion and a spoiler for the May pattern. Let's unbox it!

April 2026 Pattern
The piece we're making this month is the All Buttoned Up Cardigan from Patterns for Pirates.
Meet one of the most versatile pieces you’ll ever put into your closet! The All Buttoned Up pattern is packed full of classic options that can take you from a short-sleeve crop in the summertime to a long-sleeve knee-length dress in winter. Wear it buttoned up like a top on its own or open, layered over like a cardigan. Its slim silhouette is flattering for a piece on its own, over a layer, and can be easily layered under outerwear for even colder times.
The back seaming means you don’t have to worry about any pooling around your lower back. You can switch from crew neckline, scoop neckline, or v-neckline to have the perfect match to any outfit you need a layer for. Construction is meant to give you the easiest and best-looking cardigan without any finicky steps that cause stress.

IndieStitch April 2026 Unboxing
Inside the box, the card on top lists all of the information you need for the month's project, including a code to download the instructions + a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box).
It also gives you this month's Community Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you directly to the Indiestitch Hub for the month's video tutorial and resources. The other side details the items in the box and gives you a spoiler for next month's pattern.
First out is the fabric. I chose the Black Modal Jersey.
Once I saw in the fabric choices video that this was the black version of the off-white modal jersey from last month's oversized tee-shirt box, I snatched it up (even though I've been wanting a light blue cropped cardi for an outfit).
This jersey is so silky and soft, I'm in love! Now I'll have basic white and basic black oversized tees. I'll just have to shop for some light blue knit for this pattern...
Next are the notions to help us make our pattern this month: a spool of matching Gütermann thread, two ball-point needles for knits in the correct size for the fabric weight, interfacing for the button placket, and a set of 10 buttons.
We also got a 'How to Sew Buttons' card for this month. These new cards are a mini sewing lesson and a great add-on to the boxes!
Next out is our printed pattern, the All Buttoned Up Cardigan from Patterns for Pirates. It's printed on thick copyshop paper, making it more durable to use (and reuse) for years to come.
Next is our 1st extra item, a package of Gold-Eye Milliners Needles! "Easier to hand sew a button with a fresh, sharp needle! They glide smoothly through fabric, helping you attach buttons quickly and neatly. Perfect for button repairs, finishing touches, and small sewing tasks. A simple essential for every sewing kit."
Next is our 2nd extra item, a Tomato Pincushion with a Pepper Needle Sharpener (and a cute Pincushion sticker). "This tomato pin cushion keeps your pins secure and within easy reach while you sew. The soft cushion holds pins firmly in place for safe storage and quick access. Keep it beside your machine for sewing, quilting, embroidery, and other projects."
Last out is our 3rd extra item, a Tea With Tae tea sachet for a cuppa while you sew! I received Jasmine Green Tea, which sounds lovely. I love getting little treats in our boxes!
____________________________
That was the IndieStitch April 2026 box. We got the fabric, notions, & pattern for a fitted, button-up knit top that you can tailor for your climate. Make it with short sleeves in the cropped length and a thin, breathable fabric for summer, long sleeves in a hip-length for fall, or make the dress version with long sleeves in a heavy knit for a cozy winter staple. What a versatile pattern!
SPOILERS AHEAD!
So far, we know that the May sewing pattern will be the Paloma Tank Top from Sinclair Patterns!
Fitted at the shoulders and bust, semi-fitted at the waist and hips, wide neckline, top designed for knit fabrics. Neckline and armholes finished with bands. Armhole bands offered in one regular / narrow continuous band design or a split design. Bottom hem can be finished with a regular hem or with a fitted band. Comes in banded or hemmed hip or longline lengths.

View B - a hemmed tank top with split armhole bands
View C - a banded tank top with split armhole bands
I absolutely love the striped sample shown, where the stripe direction is turned for the armhole bands. I hope we have a nice dark stripe to choose so we can try this!
