The Nadine by Naot: The Perfect Ankle Boots for Your Fall Adventures
Wednesday, September 14, 2016I received a pair of Nadine ankle boots from Naot in order to facilitate an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Boot weather is approaching, so when Naot contacted me asking if I would like to try a pair of luxurious leather shoes from their Fall line, I couldn't wait to try out the Nadine. Adventures in wedges? Absolutely. There is a BIG difference between Naot's shoes and any other brand. While the outside is definitely attractive, it's what's inside that counts.
The Nadine comes in two colorways and I chose the Brown Croc/French Roast Leather combo to try (there is also a Black Lace Nubuck/Madras Leather combo) because I think the combination of browns is gorgeous and just perfect for my Fall looks.
The Nadine features hand-sewn Strobel construction, which offers much higher flexibility and strength than many other types of construction for a lightweight and durable shoe. A padded heel cup provides perfect arch support, and a padded technical lining offers shock absorption.
The boot features an inner zip for easy on and off, but also has functional laces for the perfect fit.
It sits on a 3/4" platform and has a 3" wedge heel, which is a great trick that gives you the illusion of height, but is more way more comfortable because your foot is not working on such a steep incline.
The toe shape is an important feature. Everyone has their preference, and mine sits right in the middle of pointed and rounded, so these are perfect for me.
Now, let's go inside to see what the big deal is.
Naot has done something with their shoes that I think all shoe designers should be doing: engineering a supremely comfortable insole. "Our uniquely engineered insoles are a blend of natural latex and cork that are designed to replicate the shape of the foot, just like the footprint we leave when walking the sand."
On top of that, the footbed is removable so you can replace it when it gets worn out, extending the life of your shoes. This is also good news if you wear custom orthotics and need to be able to remove a shoe's footbed to insert them.
The result is gorgeous and oh so comfortable. These insoles, y'all. They are amazing! I love heels, but as I get older I just can't wear them like I used to. These really didn't even feel like the low wedges that they are. They felt almost like flats with a bit of a platform.
I climbed up on a low wall to do these photos but was nervous when it came time to jump down. If I were wearing heels the shock would have been horrendous, and that's what my body was expecting. It felt like landing in athletic shoes.
I am absolutely loving these boots!
You can read all about Naot shoes (and their revolutionary footbeds) on their website, then look for them in your favorite shoe retailers or you can find them online for purchase at Simon's Shoes (here is a link to the Nadine that I'm wearing.)

Ankle boots are the perfect Fall boots, so I'm really digging the style. They're perfect with skinny jeans or a skirt, depending on what the weather's like. The shaft reaches to the ankle, so they look great with any length skirt or even rolled up jeans, and the wedge will give your calves that slight slimming effect we all love with heels.
