Hi, y'all, I'm back with an unboxing of the IndieStitch Box, a monthly apparel sewing subscription, for June 2026! This month, we'll be sewing up a pair of versatile shorts for summer in a breathable viscose-linen blend fabric. I'll show you everything that came in this month's box + I have the current promotion and a spoiler for the July pattern. Let's unbox it!

June 2026 Pattern
The piece we're making this month is are the Tavi Shorts from Greenstyle Patterns.
Introducing the Tavi Shorts- the versatile woven fabric shorts for all your summer and early fall needs. With a low or mid-rise option, front and/or back pockets, and various hem lengths, these shorts are designed to fit your unique style. Choose between a 1" or 2" elastic waistband and add a touch of flair with a side "v" hem facing, or keep it simple with a standard hem.
- 2", 4", or 6" finished inseams
- Low rise or mid rise
- 1" or 2" elastic waistband
- Standard straight hem or hem facing with side "V" notch
- Optional front pockets
- Optional back welt pockets
I like the V-notch version, and this would be a great pattern to coordinate your fabric choice with your tank top from last month for a complete summer outfit.
June 2026 Fabric Choices
This month's fabric choice is a little different from what we're used to. Indiestitch has curated the perfect fabric for this project, a viscose-linen blend with the drape of viscose and the natural texture of linen. It has a fiber content of 85% Viscose and 15% Linen and has a washed linen look. We then choose the color, and we have 6 choices this month!
- Navy
- Silver
- Spice
- Watermelon
- Sage
- Black
As always, you'll see my choice below.
IndieStitch June 2026 Unboxing
Inside the box, the card on top lists all of the information you need for the month's project, including a code to download the instructions + a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box).
It also gives you this month's Community Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you directly to the Indiestitch Hub for the month's video tutorial and resources. The other side of the card details the items in the box and gives you a spoiler for next month's pattern.
First out is the fabric. I chose the Navy Viscose Linen.
For a pair of summer shorts, I really wanted a navy pair that would look crisp with a white T-shirt or dressed up with a button-down shirt. Add on a pair of red flats, and you're all set for July 4th parties!
This fabric is a little thicker, so it will give the shorts some body while keeping its drape, and it has a lovely linen texture.
Next are the notions to help us make our pattern this month: a piece of interfacing for the back welt pockets, a length of waistband elastic, a spool of matching Gütermann thread, and two universal needles for wovens in the correct size for the fabric weight.
Next out is our printed pattern, the Tavi Shorts from Greenstyle Patterns. It's printed on a thicker paper than the usual tissue pattern paper, making it more durable to use for years to come.
Next is our 1st extra item, a Seam Ripper & Needle Threader! "Meet your new favorite little sewing sidekick: a cute retractable seam ripper with a built-in needle threader! The sliding design keeps the blade tucked away when not in use, while the threader makes hand-sewing tasks a little easier. Compact, practical, and adorable, it's a must-have notion for every sewing kit."
Next is our 2nd extra item, a set of 20 Fabric Clips. You can never have enough of these fabric clips! They're so much faster and easier to use than pins, and they won't leave holes in delicate fabrics.
Next out is our 3rd extra item, a Bodkin. "Thread drawstrings, elastic, and straps with ease using a Bodkin Set! Perfect for pulling cords through waistbands, hoodies, and casings without the frustration. A simple little sewing tool that makes finishing projects so much easier."
Last out is a 4th extra item, 2 individually-wrapped Stain Remover Wipes. These are a great no-rinse product to keep in your purse!

That was the IndieStitch June 2026 box. We got the fabric, notions, & pattern for a versatile pair of shorts to help you keep cool while looking put-together this summer!
SPOILERS AHEAD!
So far, we know that the July sewing pattern will be the Skye Summer Pajama Set from Sonia Estep Designs!
- Cami
- 1.5" Inseam
- 3.5" Inseam
- Curved Shorts Hem
- Straight Shorts Hem
I am loving this pick! It's just my style in the summer months (it gets soooo hot here!) If you have any experience with pattern-hacking, you could add a shelf bra to the cami, extend it into a nightgown, or add pockets to the shorts. I'll be making this one multiple times for sure.
