Fun Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day!
Wednesday, March 8, 2017Don't want to go out and spend the evening pub crawling? No worries. There are so many things you and your friends can do at home that will make St. Patrick's Day fun. Whether you make green beer or enjoy a movie marathon, there are lots of fun ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day without even leaving home.
The Irish know a thing of two about whiskey. Why not flavor a batch of cereal treat bars with whiskey? It's a fun and unexpected dessert. All you need to do is whip up a batch of cereal bars using Lucky Charms in place of rice crispy cereal and add a splash of whiskey to the melted butter and marshmallow mixture. If you like, you can also mix powdered sugar with a bit of whiskey to make a glaze to drizzle over the top.
Turn Your Beer Green
While the Irish prefer a nice stout beer, such as Guinness, a pale beer or ale works best for adding food coloring. Just add a few drops of green food coloring to the bottom of chilled beer glasses and fill with your favorite pale brew. Gently stir so the food coloring goes throughout and enjoy.
Serve Up Some Corned Beef and Cabbage
Truth be told, corned beef and cabbage isn't as traditional to the Irish as we've been led to believe. However, it is a very traditional meal to be served on St. Patrick's Day here in America. There are so many wonderful recipes out there! You can use corned beef from the meat counter or choose a recipe that uses canned corned beef. Either way, your guests will love it.
Have a Movie Marathon
For entertainment, why not have a movie marathon? There are some great options to choose from! Obviously, you could watch the Leprechaun series if you and your friends are into horror films. If it's just you and the girls celebrating, why not have a Pierce Brosnan, Colin Farrell, or Liam Neeson marathon? Hunky Irish men and a pint of cold beer? Sounds like an amazing girls night in. :)

Just remember to be responsible and have a designated driver or be willing to let your friends crash at your place for the night. :) Happy St. Paddy's Day!
