Boop! You can snack better during the holidays. You're welcome.
More protein = feeling fuller, longer + boosting metabolism, so protein snacks are a great way to fill up quickly while not sabotaging your efforts. Cake, anyone?
Yes, I said cake! These are the new Cake Bites from Optimum Nutrition, a great ready-to-eat protein option that will satisfy your cravings. A package of 3 whipped Cake Bites has 20! grams of Protein, 2-3 grams of sugar, is Gluten Free, and under 250 calories.
For reference, a can of tuna contains 18 grams of protein, and I haven't tried a protein snack yet that had more than 10 or 11 grams, so these are the real deal when it comes to getting in your protein.
The Cake Bites come in 4 flavors and they're all pretty darn yummy: Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Chocolate Frosted Donut, and Peanut Butter Chocolate!
They're perfect to stash away and they'll satisfy any sweet craving. Being on the go has its drawbacks, but being able to stash yummy stuff in the car console is definitely a plus, especially if it's helping you stay on track to reaching your health goals and not busting them. :)
It's the holidays that make life extra-hectic. On the one hand, we're not having as many guests this year, but on the other, we have an added school dance and a piano recital and reception this year to get ready for.
On top of everything, there's always work. I have a bad habit of filling up on coffee all day, so having a snack tucked away is definitely helpful. The Protein Almonds have become a desk staple and I couldn't be happier to take a little break. Seriously good.
Dipped in a whey enriched confection coating and dusted with cocoa, they taste like an indulgent truffle. They have 2x the protein of regular coated almonds at 10 grams per serving, 1-2 grams of sugar, and 230 calories.
They have no artificial colors or flavors and come in Dark Chocolate Truffle and Cinnamon Roll. Don't make me choose favorites here.
If you're into bars, the Protein Crisp might just be your jam. The texture in some protein bars is a major issue for me, but these are perfectly crisp and delicious. There are 20 grams of protein per bar, 240 calories, and 6-7 grams of fat.
You can get them in Peanut Butter Crunch and Salted Toffee Pretzel and they're perfect for an after workout snack.
