I received a box from Simply Earth in order to facilitate an honest review; All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Hey, guys! I'm here with a sneak peek unboxing of the Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box for September and it's full of 6 great essential oil recipes + ingredients, including one of my favorite blends. I also have a code that will get you a Big Bonus Box and a $40 gift card to Simply Earth, plus a DIY essential oil recipe for a fun, customizable DIY sugar scrub soap!

If you haven't seen one of my Simply Earth unboxings yet, the Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly curated box of 4 essential oils with containers and ingredients to make 6 essential oil recipes.

They always have a timely theme and September's box is all about Natural Soaps/Happy Scents, but also has a neat compress recipe, which is timely for me considering my sinuses are going crazy!

They send me these boxes before they're up for sale to give you guys a peek at what will be available in the upcoming month, so if you like the box I'm showing you, it's not too late to get it!

If you'd like to see some of their past boxes, you can find all of my Simply Earth unboxings here.

Today, we'll be making a fun sugar scrub soap. It's so easy to make and can be customized endlessly! I made one plain soap and one cinnamon soap (shown here). You can also add herbs or dried flowers. I can even see coffee grounds as a great addition!

This month's Essential Oil Recipe Box came inside of a Big Bonus Box. When you use my code, your box will come with this bonus box + a $40 gift card!!!

The Big Bonus Box comes with extra amber bottles for your recipe mixtures. You need to use colored glass to keep your essential oils viable, so all of the storage containers you get from Simply Earth will be exactly what you need for essential oils and recipes.

The Big Bonus Box contains:

  • 6-5ml amber bottles with dropper inserts
  • 6-10ml amber roll-on bottles with roller inserts
  • 1-2 oz. bag of beeswax pellets
  • 1-12 oz. jar of solid coconut oil
  • 1-4 oz. bottle of fractionated coconut oil
  • 1-4 oz. bottle of almond oil

Now, let's unbox this month's box!

As always, the box includes a pre-printed sticker sheet so that you can label your DIY creations and also label the tops of your new essential oil bottles.

The recipe cards included in this month's box are:

  • Lemongrass, Cajeput, and Bay Compress
  • Happy Joy Roll On
  • Flowers and Spice Diffuser Blend
  • Flowers, Spice, and Something Nice Soap
  • Happy Joy Facial Soap
  • Sugar Scrub Soap Bar

Included in the box is a silicone mold for your soaps...

...and a 3 oz. brick of Aloe Glycerine Soap Base. That's enough to do 6 sugar scrub soap bars!

The Essential Oils included in this month's box are:

The total value of this month's oils alone is $39.96!

I have to say that I'm so glad they included a bottle of the Happy Joy blend. I've been using mine a lot in my diffuser lately because it's just such a pretty, happy scent! It's one of my very favorite blends from Simply Earth.

Now, let's make something cool!

DIY Sugar Scrub Soap
Source: Simply Earth

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. (.5 oz.) Glycerine Soap Base
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 3 drops Happy Joy Essential Oil Blend
  • 1 drop Bay Essential Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
  • soap mold

Directions:

1. In a double boiler or in the microwave, heat the soap base until just melted. Do this in no more than 10-second intervals. It melts so fast and could boil over your container if left in too long!

2. Combine all of the remaining ingredients in a small bowl.

3. Once the soap is just melted, remove from heat. Stir into the remaining ingredients.

The soap will begin to solidify.

4. Gently reheat mixture until just melted and pour into the mold.

5. Allow to cool and harden. You can place the mold in the fridge or freezer to speed this up.

This is why I love silicone molds so much! It makes it super-easy to unmold your items.

To Use: Scrub and lather with the bar in the bath or shower and rinse!

If you like the upcoming September box and want to grab it for yourself, you can get it for just $39!

When you get the box, use my code SOUTHERNMOMGIFTFREE here: http://bit.ly/SimplyEarthEOBox to also get the Big Bonus Box + a free $40 gift card to Simply Earth for some extra oils or ingredients to play with!
