Hey, guys! Today I have another fun skincare DIY for you: Turmeric Toner! This skin treat will help calm down your skin with the anti-inflammatory power of turmeric. It's great for acne flareups, too much sun, or any other skin irritation that pops up. It's so gentle, just about anyone can use it. You can also keep it in the fridge for a nice way to cool down after being outside in the heat. Keep reading to learn how to make it!

This recipe only has 2 ingredients, but you'll need a spray bottle and a microwave-safe mug. Also, a microwave. ;)

Turmeric is a powerhouse and has a lots of great uses. I especially love it in my skincare because of its anti-inflammatory properties. You can read about some other uses of turmeric here.

You can reuse a spray bottle from around the house. I'm reusing a 6 oz. spray bottle from an empty body spray. Just make sure to clean it out well since this will hold something you'll be spraying on your face.

Turmeric stains, but with the small amount used in this spray, and it coming out in a fine mist, I didn't get any skin or clothing stains, but be careful if you're wearing white or any light color!!!

Supplies:

  • a 6 oz. or 8 oz. spray bottle
  • microwave-safe mug
  • 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 6-8 oz. witch hazel

Directions:

1. Put about 1/4 cup of the witch hazel along with all of the turmeric into a mug and mix well.

2. Microwave until the water boils, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Stir until the turmeric dissolves.

3. Let the turmeric mixture cool a bit, then pour it into the spray bottle.

4. Top off the spray bottle with witch hazel, screw on the sprayer, and shake to combine!

How easy was that?! If you have sensitive skin or breakouts, this spray can be a lifesaver. I've been doing homemade Turmeric Masks for years (get the recipe here), but I got the idea to make it into a toner so that I can use it all of the time and I've been loving it. I keep mine in the fridge and it feels so good after a long, hot day!

I don't break out much anymore but I use this after waxing, if I have a reaction to a new skincare product, or if I've been out in the sun. It's a really great multi-use spray to have around.

I hope you enjoy this DIY Turmeric Toner!
