Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box {May 2020} Unboxing & Code + DIY Solid Perfume Recipe!

I received a box from Simply Earth in order to facilitate an honest review; All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Hey, guys! I'm here with a sneak peek unboxing of the Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box for May 2020. May is Women's Health Month, so the recipes in this box are geared towards toxin-free support. It includes 4 great oils and 6 fun essential oil recipes with ingredients that are perfect to help you live your best toxin-free life!

I also have a code that will get you a Big Bonus Box and a $40 gift card to Simply Earth. Keep reading for that code + the recipe & instructions to make a super-simple DIY Solid Perfume that you can scent with your favorite oils!

Welp, it's been a jillionty days in isolation. We're holding up okay, but this "teaching children math" thing is just not for me. Also, my husband is starting a new job and they're making him travel to Nashville, a city with the most cases of infection so far in our state, for a week of training. 🤦‍♀️ Wish us luck.

I have had lots of great ideas for new posts, but getting supplies is a bit tough right now. Our city is on full lockdown, so all non-essential businesses are closed. I do have some ideas for fun DIYs using things I already have, so look for those coming soon. In the meantime, my monthly subscription boxes are all coming in at once, so enjoy the unboxings and this new EO recipe!

This Solid Perfume is so easy to make and if you get these boxes, you will have received the Big Bonus Box, which contains the ingredients you'll need for this recipe. If not, you can get them from the Simply Earth website (beeswax, almond oil) or Amazon (beeswax, almond oil). I'm following their recipe for the "Positivity" scent, which smells amazing (and my daughter has already stolen from me), but you can use any essential oils or oil blends that you want for your perfume.

If you haven't seen the Simply Earth boxes yet, the Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly curated box of 4 essential oils with containers and ingredients to make 6 essential oil recipes.

They always have a timely theme and May's box is all non-toxic products for women.

They send me these boxes before they're up for sale to give you guys a peek at what will be available in the upcoming month, so if you like the box I'm showing you, wait until the beginning of the month to order it. Just make sure you don't wait too long because these boxes have been selling out around mid-month!

If you'd like to see some of their past boxes, you can find all of my Simply Earth unboxings hereNow, let's unbox this month's box!

As always, the box includes a pre-printed sticker sheet so that you can label your DIY creations and also label the tops of your new essential oil bottles.

The recipe cards included in this month's box are:

  • Good Vibes Roll-On
  • Cramp Care Compress
  • Spring Day Diffuser Blend
  • Balance Bath Soak
  • Complexion Face Serum
  • Positivity Solid Perfume

Also included in the box is a 1 oz. amber squeeze bottle for the Face Serum recipe, ...

...a 1/3 oz. screw-top jar for the Solid Perfume recipe, ...

...and a .1 oz. pouch of Dried Lavender Flowers for the Bath Soak recipe.

The Essential Oils included in this month's box are:

  • Marjoram, 15ml, $15.99
  • Tangerine, 15ml, $9.99
  • Good Vibes Blend (Clary Sage, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Ho Wood), 15ml, $???
  • Ladies' Choice Blend (Clary Sage, Marjoram, Geranium, Lavender), 15ml, $15.99
I can't give you a total value for all of the oils this month because the Good Vibes Blend isn't on their website yet, but the 3 oils with prices listed are a value of $41.97 by themselves!

So that was May's box! I really liked getting to explore a few more new (to me) oils and blends this month and I think the Good Vibes Blend is going to be a new favorite. You can find out more about the monthly Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Boxes here.

Now, let's make something cool!

DIY Positivity Solid Perfume
Source: Simply Earth

Supplies:

  • 1 tsp. Beeswax pellets
  • 1 Tbsp. Almond Oil
  • 1 drop Good Vibes Essential Oil Blend
  • 2 drops Tangerine Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Marjoram Essential Oil
  • 1/3 oz. container

Directions:

1. Set up a double boiler (if you don't have one) by bringing about 1/2" of water in a small pot to a boil and using a glass or metal bowl that sits on top of the pot to put your ingredients in.

2. Place the beeswax into the bowl and place the bowl over the pot of boiling water. Once the beeswax is fully melted, add in the almond oil (it will cool off and re-solidify the beeswax a bit) and stir until re-melted.

3. Remove the bowl from heat and add in the essential oils quickly. Stir well.

4. Pour the mixture into a small container and allow to cool completely before using. You can place it in the fridge or freezer to help speed up the process.

5. Label your container and enjoy!

To use: Use your fingers to apply the solid perfume to your pulse points.

This month's recipes are fabulous. If you like the upcoming May box and want to grab it for yourself, you can get it for just $39 on May 1st!
