Hey, guys! I'm back with an unboxing of BoxyCharm for April 2020! I just got my BoxyCharm for this month, so let's unbox it! I'll tell you a little about BoxyCharm, all of the products that could be in your April box, what I got in mine, plus I've got SPOILERS for the May box and coupon codes so you can grab some free stuff, too!

First off, I hope everyone is doing okay. We're still on lockdown here, but my husband is having to travel for work. We took a day to go visit him and stay in a hotel for the night, and it's a bit eerie out there. We're used to traveling together and going out for some fun on the town and this was the opposite of that and was a little unsettling.

Other than that I've been sewing a lot of masks. If you want to get in on that sewing action and help out, check out this post to see how.

About BoxyCharm

If you haven't heard of BoxyCharm, they send out 5 full-size beauty items ranging from makeup and skincare, to beauty tools and color cosmetics, and each box has a minimum value of $125. Sometimes the value is much, much more.

It costs $25 a month and has free shipping in the contiguous US. You can also subscribe for 3 months, 6 months, or a year and get a bigger discount for a longer subscription, so you could pay for a year upfront ($275) and end up getting it for $22.92 per box. You can see all of my previous BoxyCharm unboxings here.

So first, let's take a look at every product that could be in the April boxes. I wanted to show you this so that you can see what I could have gotten and how much taking the quizzes influences what comes in your box. The first 2 months were amazing but last month was a big wtf, although I think they're getting back on track with their picks this month.

Now, let's see what I got!

BoxyCharm April 2020 Unboxing

The box includes a card on top listing the items in your box and their values, and April's box theme is Festival Vibes. It also has a nice foam padding to keep everything safe.

First out is The Original Makeup Eraser in Sunset ($20).

This pattern/color looks like a BoxyCharm exclusive since it's not on their website. I like it!

"#1 Sustainable makeup remover in the world. Erase ALL makeup with JUST water! Including waterproof mascara, eyeliner, foundation, lipstick and more!... 1 MakeUp Eraser is equal to 3600 makeup wipes! No chemicals, less waste."

They also included a discount code in the box, so if you've wanted to try out the Makeup Eraser, you can get 20% off with code BOXY20 at makeuperaser.com and they have a ton of new colors and patterns to choose from.

I already have a few Makeup Erasers so I might gift this to my daughter but they are great and I love that they eliminate the need for disposable makeup wipes. _____________________________________________

Next out is a Hank & Henry Midori Beauty Sponge Set ($20).

These are pyramid-shaped beauty sponges and they seem pretty cool! You could potentially do all of your face makeup with one sponge since there are different sides you could flip it to. It comes with a large and a small sponge for tight spots.

"Our Beauty Sponges are specifically designed to be a versatile, all over, sponge for liquid and cream application. They can be used wet for a sheer application, or dry for fuller coverage."

I know I just got a set of Luxie sponges in a previous box but they don't last forever, so I'll definitely keep these as a backup.

Next out is the Benefit The Porefessional Pore Primer ($32).

"Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. The translucent formula contains a vitamin E derivative known to protect skin from free radicals."

I used this primer for about a year before I started using my current primer (e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer) and I really enjoyed it! I have large pores in my T-zone and this helps them look less noticeable under foundation, which can sometimes exacerbate the look of large pores. It's a great primer.

Next out is the Lavish 5-Piece Neon Eye Brush Collection ($29.99).

"What is does: Applies, blends and defines with precision. Your Neon Eye set has the perfect brushes to create a defined eye look.

Set Includes:

  • Tapered Blending Brush: Blend, diffuse and soften harsh lines for a seamless look.
  • Fine Liner Brush: Perfectly sized for clean precise lines. Ideal for use with gel, cream or liquid products.
  • Brow Grooming Brush: Apply and define using your favorite powder or gel eyebrow product and then tame and blend any strays for perfect and defined brows.
  • Eye Shading Brush: Dense and compact to sweep product across entire lid or pick up max product for a heavier application.
  • Pencil Brush: Ideal for softening and smoking out liner. Can also be used on the inner corners and adding highlight to the brow bone.

Lavish brushes are always 100% synthetic, Vegan and Cruelty-Free."

I'm not into neons but this set definitely has some great brushes that have been missing from my collection. Good tools!

Last out is the Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette in Caramel Melange ($28).

This is one of 10 Zoeva eyeshadow palettes that they could have sent me and I think they made a pretty good choice based on my profile. There were some that I definitely didn't want, but this was one of my I-wouldn't-mind-having-that-one picks.

"Sweet and smooth, the ZOEVA Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette offers a selection of delicious shades – from soft, tawny butterscotch hues to caramelized, golden crème brulée nuances and warm toffee tones, spiced up by a sprinkle of bronzed cinnamon. Let the creamy-smooth textures melt on your lids and relish in matte and shimmery caramel nuances for smoldering, rich makeup looks."

Definitely a pretty palette!

So, this box was pretty darn good and out of all of the products that I could have gotten, I think I got the ones that I would have chosen for myself. The value was lower than the last few months, but it was still very high for a $25 box.

The value of the BoxyCharm box I received was $129.99.

This isn't a sponsored review post so I don't have a customized discount code for you but I do have the most recent BoxyCharm free gift coupon codes!

The current free gift promotion is the Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream, $39 (Use code: SKINCAREMVP at checkout).

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I missed Choice Day!!! I even had it on my calendar with reminders set so I don't know what happened. The days in quarantine have been all bleeding together so I'm not going to be too hard on myself. I'm kind of undecided on the choices, too, so I'm glad they'll be picking for me.

So far we know that May's box will include a choice of:

I then did some more digging and saw that we might get:

From Lady Gaga's Haus Laboratories, the Liquid Eye-lie-ner ($20).

That's pretty exciting as I love a good liquid liner. If you like this box, you can sign up for BoxyCharm here.
