I received a complimentary box from IndieStitch in order to facilitate an unboxing post. All opinions are my own. This post may contain some affiliate links. When you purchase through links on the site, I may earn a small commission, which helps me to bring you this content!

Hi, y'all! I'm back with an unboxing for the IndieStitch Box for November 2024! This month, we'll be making a pair of wide-legged, pleated trousers in 3 lengths that will be perfect to wear this holiday season. I also have an exclusive discount code just for my readers and a spoiler for the December pattern. Let's unbox it!

About IndieStitch

IndieStitch is a monthly subscription box for home sewists that provides you with everything you need to complete a beginner-friendly clothing project.

Sit back, sew, and savor the joy of making. We handle the sourcing so you can focus on the stitching. Expertly curated women’s clothing projects, premium fabrics, and community support—all in one box.

That’s what makes IndieStitch so special. When you open up your box, you’ll have exactly what you need to get back to sewing for you.

Subscription Options

As you can see above, there are 12-month, 6-month, and 1-month plans and the cost per box goes down with the longer plans. This year we get a new option to pre-pay for the plans for an added discount!

Plus, you can use the code SOUTHERNMOM50 to get 50% off your first box on the 6 and 12-month plans! That's a HUGE savings!

How Does It Work?

  • When you sign up for IndieStitch, you'll provide your size range for the printed pattern that comes in your box every month. The size ranges are incredibly inclusive!
  • Once subscribed, you'll receive an email at the end of the month (usually around the 28th) to choose the fabric for the next month's pattern.
  • Your box ships out around the 4th of each month.
  • You can choose to sew it up on your own using the pattern instructions, use the video tutorials provided in the IndieStitch Membership Hub, and/or join the Sew Along that happens in the IndieStitch Facebook group starting on the Monday around the 14th.
  • If on a monthly plan, your membership will renew for the next month between the 13th - 15th.
  • The next month's pattern is revealed on the Second Week of the Month on all social media channels (or here on my blog 😉.)
  • If you don't like the pattern for the month (or maybe you already own it), you can switch it with a past project you didn't get or swap the pattern out for extra fabric or notions. That way, you'll always get something you'll love to sew!

There is also an IndieStitch shop where you can buy some of the past project boxes, fabrics, and sewing notions.

If you'd like to see some of their past boxes, check out all of my IndieStitch unboxings here.

Monthly Free Gift!

If you complete the current month's project and post it to the IndieStitch Sew Along Facebook group before the end of the month, you will earn a free gift in your next box! Following along and seeing everyone's projects in the group is a great part of the box experience and getting a little gift in your next box is so sweet.

November 2024 Pattern

The pattern we're making this month is the Padget Pleated Trousers from Petite Stitchery!

Have you ever heard of the term "secret pajamas"? A.k.a clothes that are so comfortable they feel like pjs but so stylish that no one would ever know? Well Padget definitely fits that bill!

These trendy, high waisted bottoms are the perfect handmade alternative to those viral pleated pants you have been seeing all over Facebook and Tiktok. Let's take a peek at the options that will have you swooning over Padget!

Features:
-Wide-leg pant with Front Pleats
-Faux Fly
-Slant Pockets
-Elastic Waistband with optional belt loops
-Floor Length Pant or Flood Length
-Shorts in 2”, 3” or 4" Inseams

November 2024 Fabric Choices

This month we have 7 different fabrics to choose from:

  • Mauve Plaid Jacquard - 95% Polyester , 5% Spandex
  • Black Plaid Jacquard - 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex
  • Hunter Green Stretch Corduroy - 87% Polyester 13% Spandex
  • Muted Eggplant Stretch Corduroy - 87% Polyester 13% Spandex
  • Denim Blue Butter Scuba - 50% Rayon, 42% Polyester, 8% Spandex
  • Deep Red Butter Scuba - 50% Rayon, 42% Polyester, 8% Spandex
  • Black Butter Scuba - 50% Rayon, 42% Polyester, 8% Spandex

The IndieStitch Box comes with a card on top that states all of the pertinent information, including a code to download the instructions and a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box.)

It also gives you the current month's Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you to the sewing hub for video tutorials. The flip side details all of the items in your box.

First out is the fabric. I chose the Deep Red Butter Scuba and we received 3 yards for our wide-legged trouser pattern.

I had never heard of a Scuba Knit before. This one is 50% rayon so it has a lot of drape and is very soft. The red is a darker cranberry color that I'm loving!

Next out are the notions to help us make our pattern this month. We have a spool of matching Gütermann thread and two ballpoint needles in the correct weight for our fabric. We also got a length of wide waistband elastic.

Next out is our printed pattern, the Padget Pleated Trousers from Petite Stitchery. It's printed on thick copy shop paper to be extra durable.

Next out is our 1st extra, a Travel Sewing Kit. I'm a sucker for a cute little sewing kit! This one has all of the tools you'll need to make any impromptu repairs that come up, including buttons, snaps, and pins with a tiny pincushion. I've got one in my purse so I think I'll throw this one in my suitcase.

Last is our 2nd extra, a Sewing Machine LED Strip Light! This is so cool and will come in handy for me. I don't have great lighting in my sewing room and at night the built-in sewing machine light just doesn't cut it. The light strip has adhesive on the back and comes with 5 stick-on clips to help you manage the cord. I love getting great sewing tools that I didn't even know were available!

____________________________

That was the IndieStitch November 2024 box. I've never been a fan of pleated pants but this pattern changed my mind. Its wide legs and cool pleat details makes this the updated version that I'm loving. I'm stoked about the fabric and I can see these red pants paired with a cropped white sweater and I'm so excited! We also got some cool "extras" that will help me sew more this cold, dark winter. Great box!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

So far we know that December's pattern will be the Ali Sweatshirt from Sew DIY Patterns!

An oversized sweatshirt with drop-shoulders, dolman sleeves, a shoulder yoke and two-piece sleeves with optional topstitching. View A features a crew neck, a straight body for a gender neutral silhouette and an optional kangaroo pocket. View B is cropped with a scoop neck that narrows to the high hip for a more feminine style. The kangaroo pocket can also be used with View B.

This casual and sporty style is easy to sew and fun to wear. Wear it to the gym, to the beach or anywhere you need an extra layer of warmth. The roomy fit pairs well with jeans and leggings for everyday stylish comfort.
