One of Mine and my husband's big occasions every year is the anniversary of our first date. A first date might not sound like a big deal, but considering we'd known each other since our mid-teens, but didn't date until we were in our 20's, that first date was a big deal for us and led to a long and happy marriage. We always celebrate that milestone with a date, and this year we headed to dinner at Red Lobster for the Lobsterfest event! If you love lobster, it's kind of a big deal. ;)

If you want delicious seafood dishes, Red Lobster is where we go. Now, I'm not a huge fan of fish, but seafood? Bring me everything you have. My husband, on the other hand, loves anything that was ever fished from the water!

Here we are leaving for our date. I insisted on a photo to commemorate the anniversary and naturally, I got silly with it. This is the only shot where I'm not pulling a face. You're welcome.

So patient.

We headed out to our Red Lobster in here in Jackson, TN. Lobsterfest has been their largest and most iconic event for over 30 years. It is the ultimate celebration of everything lobster and features the largest selection of lobster dishes all year.

and were greeted by our dinner in the lobby. :)

Helloooooo, dinner! ;)

We were seated and had a short PDA-filled wait for our waitress, Natalie.

He's still a sweetheart!

With Lobsterfest in full swing, we couldn't wait to try out some of the new dishes!

We started our dinner with the two newest drinks created especially for Lobsterfest this year.

I ordered the new Lobsterfest Fizz, a blend of vodka, sweet mango and passion fruit juices, Sprite, and sour mix, topped with a splash of Grand Marnier and served with a wedge of lime.

My husband ordered the new Island Lobster Punch, a blend of rum and elderflower liqueur with strawberry and tropical fruit juices topped off with a splash of sour mix.

Natalie was an amazing waitress! She knew her stuff and was fast and professional. Also, sweet and patient! She let me get some shots of her bringing our orders and was such a good sport!

The new Lobsterfest drinks come in collectible Coastal glassware (available only for a limited time) that you can take home with you. Our location was super-busy and was out of the glasses, but that was okay; Our drinks were amazing!

My husband ordered the Lobster Lover’s Dream, a classic Lobsterfest dish that includes both a succulent roasted rock lobster tail AND sweet split Maine lobster tail, steamed and served with Lobster-and-Shrimp Linguine Alfredo. It IS a Lobster Lover’s Dream!

I ordered the new Lobsterfest Surf & Turf, but it was such a hard choice! The Surf & Turf includes a split Maine lobster tail baked with Red Lobster’s signature seafood stuffing AND a wood-grilled sirloin topped with shrimp in a lobster cream sauce. So amazing!

Some of the other new menu items this year are the Lobster Mix and Match, a dish in which you can choose two lobster tails from four choices to create your own entrée, including Creamy Shrimp-Topped Lobster Tail, Seafood-Stuffed Lobster Tail, Steamed Maine Lobster Tail, or Grilled Maine Lobster Tail. There is also a new Wood-Grilled Lobster and Red Shrimp and a Stuffed Tilapia with Langostino Lobster.

There are still favorites on the menu like the ever-popular Ultimate Feast, Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Salmon, the Seaport Lobster and Shrimp, and the Roasted Maine Lobster Bake.

You can also get brand new appetizers like the Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail. It features lobster and shrimp that are poached and served with Red Lobster’s signature cocktail sauce over a bed of shaved ice. The perfect Lobsterfest starter!

I really enjoyed my meal and I think that cream sauce is just about the best thing I've ever had.

The lobster tail was tender and perfectly seasoned.

The shrimp were also tender (as shrimp should be!) and did I mention that cream sauce?! To die for!

I ordered my steak medium-well and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and of course we finished our meal off with dessert. Treat yourself!

We ordered the Bananas Foster Cheesecake, another specialty from the Lobsterfest menu, and it was divine!

It's perfect for sharing and even comes with two spoons. :) It is a twist on the classic dish and features two slices of caramel cheesecake topped with warm, freshly sliced bananas, caramel, and spiced rum and served with vanilla ice cream and candied pecans. It was the perfect way to finish an amazing meal for our First Date Anniversary!
