With my daughter back in school, I'm back to making sure she has everything she needs to have a successful day. We often think that means a good breakfast and all the necessary school supplies, but sometimes they need a little extra, like Wet Ones® Hand Wipes for messy hands, sunscreen for the playground, tissues for runny noses, or lip balm for chapped lips, so I created this awesome school-ready backpack kit for older kids to make sure that they have everything they might need at hand and I'll show you just how to put it together.

I was recently asked by Wet Ones® Hand Wipes to create a unique tutorial for back to school and I wanted to share my backpack kit with you! It is so incredibly handy to keep with them and as long as the kids are old enough to know the proper use of the items inside, you can include them.

It's also really easy to customize it for your child depending on their age and needs and I'll tell you what I included in mine and give you some ideas for older and younger kids.

First, I'm including my favorite remedy for messy hands: Wet Ones® Hand Wipes. They kill 99.99% of germs, so no matter what messes they get into they can keep their hands clean and minimize the spread of germs. Plus, no bathroom break is required. They can wipe out dirt and messes when water isn’t available.

Find the new Specially Marked Wet Ones® Hand Wipes in stores now which features a sweepstakes for the chance to win a trip to Universal Orlando Resort You can get them in 40-count canisters and 20 count travel packs in Fresh scent, Citrus scent, and also for sensitive skin with custom packaging based on two of Universal Orlando Resort’s hit attractions – Shrek 4D and Transformers: The Ride-3D! They'll love carrying around one of their favorite characters.

Make sure to grab this Ibotta offer for Wet Ones® when you put together your school-ready backpack kit!

School-Ready Backpack Kit

I'm using a clear toiletry organizer that I found in the travel toiletries section for my backpack kit. I like that it's sectioned off and being able to see the contents will minimize digging.

My daughter is 10, so I'm including some items that might not be appropriate for a younger child, but use your own judgment. You know your child best!

Supplies:
  • Wet Ones® Hand Wipes Travel Pack
  • First Aid kit (includes bandages and alcohol wipes, could include an antibiotic ointment or spray)
  • Sunscreen
  • Soothing sunburn gel
  • Travel pack of tissues
  • stain remover pen & lint roller
  • lotion
  • lip balm
  • deodorant
  • body spray
  • hair tie
  • nail clippers

You could also include things like an Epi-pen or allergy medication if your child has severe allergies. Facial wipes for hot, sweaty days or bug spray could come in handy. If you have an older daughter, menstruation supplies would be a good addition. Just think back to those times when your child came home sunburned or with chapped lips for inspiration on what to include.

I'm putting the smallest items in the small side pocket so they don't get lost in the bottom and filling one of the main pockets with "occasional" items; Those supplies that they might need, but they might not, like the First Aid kit, sunburn gel, and deodorant.

I'm filling the last main pocket with the frequently used items; The things they will reach for most often, like Wet Ones® Hand Wipes and tissues. That way it will stay organized a little longer. ;)

Ta-Da! A handy-dandy, ready-for-anything backpack kit! It can live in the bottom of their backpack so that no matter what the school day throws their way, they'll be prepared.
