Hi, guys, I'm back with the Allure Beauty Box unboxing for September. This one includes a few products that I was excited to try and a few brands that are new to me. It includes 6 products from Nars, Ciate London, Naturelab, La Roche-Posay, and Acure. I'll walk you through it + I've got SPOILERS for October's box. Let's do it!

Allure Beauty Box - September 2019

This box was different. It's much smaller, but much prettier. I'm wondering if this is another reboot of the regular box or if this is a special edition of the box for their Best of Beauty Award Winners? Guess we'll see next month.

When you open it, there's a mini-magazine inside telling you all about the products included with tips to use them. There are also exclusive discount codes for some of the products, and I always share these just in case someone can use them! This month's codes are:

  • ciatelondon.com: ALLURE19 for 20% off your order (9/1/19 through 11/1/19)
  • amazon.com/naturelab: ALLURE19 for 15% off your order (9/1/19 through 12/31/19)
  • laroche-posay.us: ALLURE20 for 20% off your purchase of Lipikar Eczema (9/1/19 through 11/1/19)
  • acure.com: ACUREFALL19 for 25% off your order (9/1/19 through 11/1/19)

There was no cosmetics bag this month (wonder if they read my last post? 😂), but trading box items for a fancier shipping box was not really what I had in mind. 🙄

First out is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita (Full-size, $27).

"Saturate lips with rich, vivid pigments and a velvety-matte finish. This non-drying, long-lasting formula is enriched with vitamin E and emollients for a creamy texture. The versatile pencil can be paired with other lip products for added dimension, or used as a tinted base."

I have a confession to make. I love a matte lip pencil. Matte is my thing and I usually find the pencils less drying than a matte lipstick. Dolce Vita is a dusty rose, which is usually also a go-to for me, and I've never tried a Nars pencil, so we'll see how it goes.

Next out is the Ciate London Dewy Stix Luminous Highlighting Balm in Gleam (Full-size, $26).

"Instantly bring a lit-from-within-glow to your complexion with this low shimmer, dewy, wet-look illuminator. Formulated with murumuru butter and hyaluronic acid, this weightless, non-tacky balm provides natural, healthy-looking radiance on any skin. It’s the perfect finishing touch on bare skin or on top of makeup."

Hmmm. I've got a setting powder from Ciate London that I like but I'm not too sure about this one.

Part of it is that at my age, highlighters tend to emphasize any little wrinkles, cakey foundation, and dry skin; In other words, all of the things that can go wrong with makeup, your highlighter can emphasize. It would have to be a real good day.

There is one that I use to give a little glow to my bare skin and I think that's the way I would go with this one. I can't imagine putting a balm on top of foundation. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'll try it. Maybe I won't. 🤷‍♀️Just not too excited about this one.

Next out is a sample of the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Eczema Soothing Relief Cream ($0.37 for .17 oz., $14.99 for full-size).

"La Roche-Posay Lipikar Eczema Soothing Relief Cream for Eczema-Prone Skin is clinically shown to relieve itchy, irritated skin & reduce the signs of eczema. It replenishes skin's essential lipids & provides instant, lasting hydration. "

I think this is the most inexpensive product in any Allure box that I've received and I'm surprised. La Roche-Posay is a great skincare brand, but I don't think an eczema treatment should have been included in a luxury beauty box. I guess I'll stash this one away for my hands this winter.

Next out is a sample-size of the Naturelab Tokyo Perfect Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner ($2.47 for two 1 oz. samples, $14 each for full-size).

"NatureLab’s Tokyo Perfect Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner Duo is a strong-hair zen set that gives you smooth, flawless hair while protecting your hairs color. Potent Argan Stem Cells stimulate hair follicles to produce healthier, shinier hair while Quinoa proteins create a protective sheath around each strand. Yuzu Ceremides guard against frizz and a deeply penetrating exotic oil blend of Argan, Boabab and Marula Oils offers long-lasting moisture to keep tresses tame."

I'm actually curious about these and I'm so glad they included both the shampoo and conditioner from the line. Nothing aggravates me more than receiving just one or the other in a beauty box. I'll give these a try and let you know what I think in my Instagram Stories.

Last out is a sample-size of the Acure Brightening Facial Scrub ($1.67 for 1 oz., $9.99 full-size).

"Sea kelp super-nutrients soften and detox while lemon peel and French green clay cleanse. Madonna lily brings the brightness to round out this refreshing facial scrub."

Scratch that previous comment; THIS is the most inexpensive product that has ever been in an Allure box so far. Regardless, I was really excited about trying this and I think they could have included a full-sized for this one since it's so inexpensive. I love a good facial scrub, so I'll give this one a try and let you know what I think!

Okay, guys, that was the full September Beauty Box from Allure. This was an okay box and contained a few things I'm excited about trying. It costs $15 per month and this box had a value of $57.51. What do you think about this month's box?

I got this one early in the month, so it will still be available if you want to get it.
