I don't know about you, but my sinuses are kicking my butt! When I saw the recipes and oils in this month's box, I was stoked, especially for the Eucalyptus Shower Steamers.

These little pucks are filled with aromatic lavender buds and Eucalyptus essential oil and if you've got a stuffy nose, you won't have it for long.

If you haven't seen one of my Simply Earth unboxings yet, the Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly curated box of 4 essential oils with containers and ingredients to make 6-7 essential oil recipes.

They always have a timely theme and November's box is all about taking care of yourself.

They send me these boxes before they're up for sale to give you guys a peek at what will be available in the upcoming month, so if you like the box I'm showing you, wait until the end of the month to order it. If you still want to get last month's box, it should still be available unless they've sold out.

Now, let's make something cool!

DIY Eucalyptus Shower Steamers
Source: Simply Earth

Supplies:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil (solid)
  • 1 Tbsp. Lavender buds
  • 5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Lime Essential Oil
  • 1 ice cube tray or similar mold (I'm using half of a bath bomb mold!)

Directions:

1. In a bowl, heat coconut oil until just melted using a double boiler or in a microwave. Add in essential oils.

Note: This recipe calls for 5 drops of each essential oil, but you can add additional drops for a more powerful sinus-clearing aroma. I used 25 drops of each. :)

2. Add in the baking soda and lavender buds and mix until crumbly. Test the mixture by squeezing a handful together. If it doesn't stick, add in a little more coconut oil and mix again.

3. Press the mixture into your mold. You can use just about anything as a mold, even a small jar. Press it firmly in and tap firmly to release.

4. Allow to dry for 24 hours, or you can place them on a tray or plate and put them in the freezer to help the coconut oil re-solidify more quickly.

5. Cut out and place your label on an airtight container or jar.

6. To use, place 1-2 shower steamers in the bottom of your shower and shower as usual. I like to place a washcloth over the drain to help the mixture stay in the tub longer. You could also use these in a bath. :)

Ta-da! Easy-peasy.

If you like the upcoming November box and want to grab it for yourself, you can get it for just $39!
