Monday, April 1, 2024I received a Foot Massager from Bob & Brad in order to facilitate an honest review. All opinions are my own. This post may contain some affiliate links.
Hi, guys! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. Mine was more, erm, relaxing than usual because I've been testing out the Bob & Brad Lite Foot Massager! If you've been wondering if one of these machines is worth getting, I've got all of the Pros and Cons for you below along with a promo code to save some dough!
I've been contacted, and turned down, so many review requests for these types of massagers because, well, they seemed like one of those janky gadgets that isn't as good as it sounds and will be relegated to the closet after a few uses. That's not something that I would want to share with you here.
When I was contacted by the Bob & Brad team, I knew it had to be good. If you don't know Bob & Brad, they're the internet's favorite Physical Therapists! I've actually been familiar with them for years from their YouTube channel where they share so much great information that helps so many people.
When I'm searching for information on a technique or stretch and one of their videos pops up, I know it's going to be safe and effective because they are actual Physical Therapists. I was so sad to hear about Bob's Ataxia diagnosis but I'm glad he'll still be behind the scenes, even if he won't be in front of the camera much anymore.
I was delighted to hear they had started a line of products. I've been through a lot of in-person Physical Therapy and some of the things I've used there would be helpful to have at home. I've found some of them on Amazon but you never know if it's the right item for your therapeutic needs or a quality-made product that will last. Having the Bob & Brad name lets me know that this item was tested and approved by real Physical Therapists.

Out of the Box
This foot massager has all of the bells & whistles I've seen in other models, all in one. It combines heat, kneading, and air compression squeezing.
It's fully adjustable with 2 levels of heat, 4 levels of squeezing intensity, and 3 levels of kneading intensity, or you can turn off any of the three to get just the kind of treatment you want at the time.
It's really light, so it's easy to tote from one room to another. The "socks" that you put your feet into are also removable for washing, so this unit would be easy to keep clean and would be great for multiple users in a household.
It runs on an AC adapter, so unlike battery devices, it's fully powered and you don't have to worry about changing out batteries or charging it.
It also comes with a 1-year warranty and a dedicated Customer Service team! Nice.
What I Found
There's a sticker on the front of the unit that shows the correct foot placement for the shiatsu roller inside. Since this has to work for lots of different foot sizes and shapes (up to a Men's size 12), I get it, but it can take a few tries to get just the right placement for you.
My lady feet are on the smaller size for this machine so I was able to test out horizontal placement, too; putting my feet closer together or farther apart to get kneading closer to the instep or outer part of the foot. Once your feet are where you want them, the air compression will hold them in place.
The "kneading" part of the massage is just in the middle of the foot. The toe and heel ends have rounded nodes underneath that are stationary and pressure is applied on them via the air bags pushing your foot into them. If I could change anything about this machine, it's this: It would be nice to have rotating nodules under the heel and toe sections, too.
The unit is on a program that kneads and squeezes in different combinations and goes up in intensity so if it's not as hard as you like, just wait. I like a harder kneading with my massages, but start on the lowest intensity first! I cranked it to the max on my first try and it was a bit much for me, so those who like a deeper massage will appreciate it, too.
The heat is also pretty powerful, so be aware! It takes around a minute for it to fully heat up and there are 2 levels of heat.
The unit auto-runs for 15 minutes with a multi-phase massage program, then shuts itself off. When testing this out, I used this many, many times, but usually around once a day.
The one time I tried it twice back-to-back I had to abort-mission about 3 minutes into the second massage because my feet became so relaxed and sensitive to the heat and pressure that it became painful. I make these mistakes so you don't have to, guys. 😂
All in all, this is a very nice machine that has taken a permanent place tucked under the ottoman of my favorite chair. I use it regularly and it's helped keep my feet relaxed, flexible, and without a plantar fasciitis flare-up for the last month.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this foot massager, and since it has a 1-year warranty and a dedicated customer service line, you can feel better about the quality of it, too.
