I received a complimentary box from IndieStitch in order to facilitate an unboxing post. All opinions are my own. This post may contain some affiliate links.

Hey, y'all. I'm back with an unboxing of the IndieStitch Box for December 2025. This month, we'll be sewing up a super-cute cross-over cropped top or long shirt in a sweater knit for the cold weather ahead. I'll show you everything that came in this month's box + I have a new exclusive discount code and a spoiler for the January pattern! Let's unbox it!

About IndieStitch

Sit back, sew, and savor the joy of making. We handle the sourcing so you can focus on the stitching. Expertly curated women’s clothing projects, premium fabrics, and community support—all in one box.

That’s what makes IndieStitch so special. When you open up your box, you’ll have exactly what you need to get back to sewing for you.

Subscription Options

There are options to subscribe monthly or for 6 months at a time. The boxes are $86 each on the monthly plan but the cost per box goes down to $70.58 if you pre-pay for 6 months. That's a savings of almost $16 per box!!!

Plus, you can use my brand-new code 'SouthernMom40' to get $40 off either plan! That's a HUGE savings!

There is also an IndieStitch shop where you can buy some of the past project boxes, fabrics, and sewing notions.

If you'd like to see some past boxes, check out all of my IndieStitch unboxings so far, here.

Monthly Free Gift!

If you complete the current month's project and post it to the IndieStitch Sew Along Facebook group before the end of the month, you will earn a free gift in your next box! Following along and seeing everyone's projects in the group is a great part of the box experience and getting a little gift in your next box is so sweet.

December 2025 Pattern

The piece we're making this month is the Lore Reversible Long Crop & Shirt from Made for Mermaids!

The Lore pattern is a fully reversible top designed for sweater knit fabrics, giving you two looks in one! Featuring a faux cross-over detail and a banded bottom hem, this versatile design can be worn with the cross-over in the front or back.

Choose from two lengths—a long crop or a shirt. Plus three neckline options. Neckband A has a high scoop on both sides, Neckband B features a high scoop on one side and a low scoop on the other, and Neckband C offers a low scoop on both sides, which can also be worn off one shoulder.

Features a trendy dropped shoulder. The pattern also includes four sleeve options: a cuffed or hemmed short sleeve, a lantern sleeve, or a hemmed long sleeve.

Whether you style it as athleisure wear for the gym or errands, or dress it up with a skirt or jeans for a polished everyday look, the Lore is the ultimate wardrobe staple!

This is such a cute top! I think I'll be making a slightly oversized cropped version with the crossover in back, lantern sleeves, and the scooped neckline in front and back.

December 2025 Fabric Choices

We have 8 fabrics to choose from this month!

  • Pink Rose Textured Knit (63% Polyester, 33% Cotton, 4% Spandex)
  • Navy French Terry (95% Cotton, 5% Spandex)
  • Heather Gray French Terry (95% Cotton, 5% Spandex)
  • Tomato Thermal Waffle Knit (80% Polyester, 16% Rayon, 4% Spandex)
  • Denim Brushed Rib Knit (92% Polyester, 8% Spandex)
  • Fawn Thermal Waffle Knit (80% Polyester, 16% Rayon, 4% Spandex)
  • Lilac Textured Knit (63% Polyester, 33% Cotton, 4% Spandex)
  • Acorn Brushed Rib Knit (92% Polyester, 8% Spandex)

Such a tough choice this month! There were at least 3 that I was drooling over.

Inside the Indiestitch box, a card lists all the information you need for the month's project, including a code to download the instructions + a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box).

The card also gives you the month's Facebook Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you directly to the Indiestitch sewing hub for video tutorials. The flip side details all of the items in the month's box and gives you a spoiler for the next month's pattern.

First out is the fabric. I chose the Pink Rose Textured Knit.

This is definitely a pretty fabric. The color is more of a terra cotta rose, and it's a great pick for a Fall project. It's textured on one side and is thin enough for layering under a coat without feeling awkward.

Next out are the notions to help us make our pattern this month: a spool of matching Gütermann thread and two ball-point needles for knits in the correct size for the fabric weight.

Next out is our printed pattern, the Lore Reversible Long Crop & Shirt from Made for Mermaids. It's printed on thick, copyshop paper, making it more durable to use and reuse for years to come.

Next out is our 1st extra item, a set of 6 Bobbin Buddies. These are great for keeping your thread spool together with the matching bobbin. Have you ever had to try and find the bobbin for a certain thread color? If you have several tones of the same color in your collection, it can be maddening. So happy to get more!

Last out is our 2nd extra item, a Mini Lint Roller. These are great for cleaning up a thread mess at your machine or rolling the cat hair off of a stack of fabric that he mistook for a cozy bed. 😅 I always keep one in my sewing kit!

That was the IndieStitch December 2025 box. We got the fabric, notions, & pattern for a cute top that will look good with jeans for everyday or with a chic skirt or layered over a slip dress for the holidays. Another great box!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

So far, we know that the January pattern will be the Audacity Joggers or Shorts from Pattern Niche!

The Audacity joggers are the perfect style meets comfort pant. The pleats add great visual detail while also creating a very flattering fit. It’s not your standard jogger.

Features a high waist yoga waistband, slouchy pockets, and front and back pleats. Also includes shorts with side pleats and ruching. They’re also an amazingly fast sew! Start to finish in 1 hour! No serger required! No special tools needed.
