January 2026 Pattern
The piece we're making this month is the Audacity Joggers or Shorts from Pattern Niche.
The Audacity joggers are the perfect style meets comfort pant. The pleats add great visual detail while also creating a very flattering fit. It’s not your standard jogger.
Features a high waist yoga waistband, slouchy pockets, and front and back pleats. Also includes shorts with side pleats and ruching. They’re also an amazingly fast sew! Start to finish in 1 hour! No serger required! No special tools needed.

We have 7 fabrics to choose from this month.

IndieStitch January 2026 Unboxing
Inside the box, a card lists all the information you need for the month's project, including a code to download the instructions + a digital version of the pattern for free (you will get the printed pattern in your box).
It also gives you this month's Community Sew Along dates and a QR code that takes you directly to the Indiestitch Hub for the month's video tutorial and resources. The other side details the items in the box and gives you a spoiler for the next month's pattern.
First out is the fabric. I chose the Raspberry Tri-Blend French Terry.
The color is more of a cranberry and I love it for the colder months. It's soft and cozy and will be wonderful for a pair of joggers to lounge in.
Next are the notions to help us make our pattern this month: a length of elastic, a spool of matching Gütermann thread, and two ball-point needles for knits in the correct size for the fabric weight.
Next is our printed pattern, the Audacity Joggers or Shorts from Pattern Niche. It's printed on thick copyshop paper, making it more durable to use and reuse for years to come.
Next is our 1st extra item, a Sewing Journal! This is a very nice bound journal with lined pages, and I will enjoy using this for my sewing ideas and planning.
Next is our 2nd extra item, a Flexible Measuring tape. These are great to have multiples of, and this one closes with a snap! I've never seen this before, but what a great idea!
Last out is another extra item, but it's not listed on our card. I think these are shoe charms? They're a bendable silicone with a shanked button on the back for popping through a hole, such as on Crocs or in a buttonhole. Very cute!
