I received a watch from Detomaso in order to facilitate an honest review. All opinions are my own.


If you've been reading for a while, you'll know that I'm a bit of a watch fanatic; I feel there's no better accessory that an interesting or unique watch to complete your look. Detomaso makes several lines of precision German-engineered watches for men that fit the bill perfectly; They're rugged and utilitarian with a dash of style.

I was sent the Airbreaker aviator-style chronograph watch from the Young Guns collection to try out and I enlisted my son, who is also a watch lover, to give it a wear and report back.

The watch came well padded in foam. The tin also contained an instruction manual and a unique metal two-year warranty card. Detomaso also provides free shipping, 2-3 day delivery time, and easy exchanges.


We received the black/blue Airbreaker model. The watch movement is by Swiss manufacturer Ronda, and has a stainless steel casing, sapphire-coated glass, and a genuine leather band. The band is black on the outside, but a surprising red on the inside. The watch features time and date display, a stopwatch, and a separate second hand.


Around the face is a rotating GMT dial that can show you at a glance what time it is in other time zones. It's also got luminescent color on the hands and on the tachymeter display that glow in the dark to help you see in low-light situations.


The watch is water resistant to 10 ATM (atmospheres.) This means that it is splashproof and you can wash your hands or take a shower with it on with no problems. You can also swim with it, but it is not suitable for diving.


Using the stopwatch function is easy; Just the press a button to start, and press the same button to stop. You can also take split time with your watch; Just start the stopwatch then press another button button while it is running to measure split time.


The leather band was comfortable for all day wear, even while playing sports. The watch face and casing are tough enough to stand up to the abuse of daily wear. The layout of the face was clean and functional while still packing in lots of features. The style of the watch is perfect for everyday wear, and the red on the inside of the band was a nice touch. I would recommend this watch to any guy that needs a quality timepiece that looks good too.
