Weekly Wrap-Up #7

This week I've been working on some fun stuff for you guys.
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here and I'm loving every minute of it. Picnics and walks in the park are my favorites and I did a fun, low-budget DIY that anyone can recreate (coming soon!)
If you didn't see it, I started a new giveaway for Mother's Day. The prize is a $50 Amazon gift card so that you can buy something fun for yourself or the mom in your life. Make sure to enter that one here.
I also had a fun guest post from Victoria of How Daily. It was a recipe for Garlic Sesame Chicken Bites that I can't wait to make! If you think it looks delish, show her some love and leave a comment for her. :)
I ramped up my hair color for spring and have a new braided hairstyle tutorial coming out this week. It looks a little complicated, but once you do it a few times, you can braid it up in your sleep!
We've all been doing well here. Sleepovers for the little one and college visits for the big one mean that they've stayed busy and excited all week.
My son actually got to have dinner with the head of the department he'll be entering in college and loved every minute of it. They had a good time discussing all things Engineering and the cool projects he'll be working on for the next 4 years. I geeked out a little and envy all of the fun he'll be having! I'm so happy that he's enjoying the process and looks forward to college.
He wants to build a forge this summer for funsies and while it's a cool project, moms worry, lol. Maybe I'll document it for the blog?
We had a neighbor move and leave a particleboard desk, which we pulled up on the porch. It's missing the keyboard tray and is a bit worse for wear. My son thought all of the cubbies in the hutch were super-cool and wants help fixing it up. It has a few chunks of wood broken off of the base corners that need filling and sanding and other small repairs in addition to replacing the keyboard tray. It also needs a facelift so we might paint it and use vinyl contact paper for a cool stone effect. I thought I would do a furniture refurbishing DIY for the blog; Is that something you would like to see?
I'm also wanting to start freezer cooking again (I blogged about it forever ago here and here.) It was such a lifesaver that I don't know why I stopped. It takes a bit of planning but having those dishes ready to go into the crockpot or oven was an amazing feeling on a busy day.
I also saw that Once a Month Meals now has Crockpot and Instant Pot menus so I think I'm going to load up on those. Usually, the crockpot meals are just prepping ingredients to throw in a ziplock bag in the freezer and were always the easiest, so I'm thinking the Instant Pot meals will be even easier since they can cook ingredients from frozen and you won't have to remember to thaw anything out!
How has your week been going? Is it warming up where you are?
