Hi! I'm unboxing something new to me today: The #IPSY Glam Bag X for August 2022! This quarter's GBX is curated by Alicia Keys, music icon and founder of the Keys Soulcare line of skincare and makeup. I'll tell you a little about IPSY Glam Bag X, all of the products that could come in this season's GBX, plus what I got in mine. Let's get unbagging!


If you haven't heard of IPSY's Glam Bag X yet, it's a seasonal upgrade to your regular Glam Bag or Glam Bag PLUS, so it will replace your bag every three months. If it replaces your base Glam Bag, it's an extra $45 per season to upgrade. If it will replace your Glam Bag PLUS, it will cost an extra $30 to upgrade your bag for each seasonal shipment. If you're subscribed to both, it will replace your PLUS bag for that month.

GBX is curated by a different celebrity each season. Past curators have included Patrick Ta, Khloe Kardashian, Huda Kattan, and Halsey. This season's curator is Alicia Keys!

The GBX contains 8 full-sized products (worth up to $350) specially curated by beauty’s biggest tastemakers and celebs, and you get to choose three from a personalized assortment, which includes exclusive product drops you won’t find anywhere else. 

You have to be a current IPSY member to upgrade. Just click on the X tab at the top to sign up for the upgrade. During each upgrade month, you’ll get to build your Glam Bag X starting on the 2nd at 9 a.m. ET until the 3rd at 6 p.m. ET.

I love that you can choose more of your items (3) than with other beauty box subscriptions (usually just 1, if at all) and the value is on the higher end of the spectrum, so it's a really good deal!

I like to be able to share everything that could come in your box. Like most beauty boxes, you will complete quizzes and compile a profile for yourself when you join. That will determine the items that IPSY will choose for your bag and not all bags will look like mine. 

This is everything that could come in a Glam Bag X this month.


That's a great assortment that includes skincare, makeup, jewelry, haircare, body care, and beauty tools. I spot Glow Recipe! 💖

One thing about the Glam Bag X is that you don't automatically get a bag every month. You can choose it as part of your assortment and it's more of a purse-type-bag than the ones we get in GB or GBP. I like that because honestly, I don't know what to do with all of the bags I've got. 😅 It's a nice way to add a fashion piece to your assortment if that's your thing!

I've never tried any skincare from Keys Soulcare before so I'm excited to get this. I have dry skin that needs regular exfoliation and I like that it's in powder form. That means you can add more water for a gentle exfoliation or less for a more powerful scrub.

Nice! I got a Keys moisturizer to go with the exfoliator. I like the benefits of this one and I also like the price tag. I often get sent skincare with ridiculous pricing, so I like that if I try this and love it, it won't break the bank to repurchase.

I don't know if I believe in the power of stones, but I do believe in the power of a cold, smooth rolling to help with under eye and facial puffiness. I have used a jade roller and really liked it. This obsidian roller is one I haven't seen yet. If you get puffy under the eyes or in the face, I can tell you a cold stone roller will help. If you need to clear some negative energy? Bonus. Plus, the black is very chic.

I am a sucker for a pretty eyeshadow palette and it gets bonus points for being in shades that are complimentary to all skin tones. This one has some pretty neutrals with pops of rose and plum plus 2 shimmers to help accentuate your look.

I've tried a Bobbi Brown shadow stick before and I like the creamy formula that stays put. There is a bit of a learning curve coming from powder shadows when it comes to blending and getting a shade to be opaque without getting sticky, but the wear-time is worth it.

I like using a single brand for my skincare but I couldn't resist breaking out that Perricone MD moisturizer. They're a fantastic skincare brand and their products smell lovely and feel good.

How cool, I'm stoked to try this one! The satin eye mask has pockets to insert either the reusable hot/cold gels or the single-use steam session pads. It comes with 3 packets of unscented steam pads but you can buy more on their site and they make them in lavender and rose scents, too. Sounds relaxing. Love it!

So, that was the August  Ipsy Glam Bag X. I received some fantastic skincare and beautiful makeup but also two cool beauty tools. You could use the mask for cold depuffing but also for warm relaxing. Loving this GBX!
