Is there anything better than taking time away from the daily grind to make fun vacation memories with your family? A family vacation can be relaxing, but unfortunately, paying for it is not always so relaxing. The good news is there are some easy ways to save money. Whether you vacation during the off season, choose to cook your meals, or choose an all-inclusive resort option, you can get rock-bottom pricing on your family vacation and still have a ball.

How to Get Rock-Bottom Pricing on Your Family Vacation

Vacation During the Off Season

One of the easiest ways to save on your vacation is to go during the off season (also called the slow or low season.) For example, if your family wants to go to Disney, go during the school season while most families are staying at home. Not only are the parks less crowded, but the cost of admission and the cost of hotels can be much more affordable.

The same can be said for almost any destination. The off season for the Caribbean is mid-April to mid-December. Off season for Italy is November through February. You can save hundreds on airfare and hotels during these times. Most destinations have an off-season, so if you know where you want to go, research that ahead of time and plan accordingly.

Book a Condo with a Kitchen

If you have a large family, dining expenses can be rough. One way to cut down is to rent a condo or hotel room with a full kitchen and cook your own meals. You could cut your food expense by a hundred dollars or more a day for a full family.

Try a Travel Agency

Travel agencies work with some of the best tourist locations to get you the best prices. You will be hard pressed to find prices as low as what you'll see through travel agencies. Can you get the prices on your own? Maybe. It all depends on how many hours you want to put into it.

Be Open Minded to Different Options

There are so many different options to choose from when planning your vacation. For example, you may have your heart set on a beachfront hotel with a private balcony, but find that a beachfront without a balcony is $30 cheaper per night. You might also find that you'll save money staying in a hotel Monday-Friday and checking out on Saturday. If you remain flexible, you can save big bucks.

Spin the Wheel

If you don't have a destination in mind, you can use online websites like Kayak, Expedia, and Travelocity to look at the best vacation package deals of the moment and choose your destination accordingly. Look for links to pages like "Today's Top Deals" or "Packages" for great deals bundles with flight, hotels, and sometimes activities.

Bundle

You can save so much money by bundling. For example, you can save a lot of money by bundling your Disney vacation. It is so much cheaper to stay at the park, and you can bundle the cost of the hotel room and attraction tickets. You can also choose a bundle that has meal options included.

Consider All-Inclusive Vacations

An all-inclusive vacation is not only easier, but also surprisingly affordable. Resorts like Beaches and Sandals are all-inclusive, as are many cruises. You don't have to worry about budgeting for meals or different activities as it's all provided. You only have to book your flight and the resort or cruise and you're done.

They may or may not provide airport transfers, so check beforehand. The only thing you need to remember is that shopping, tips, and usually alcoholic beverages are not included.

You don't have to overspend on a family vacation when there are so many great ways to save! Whether you choose an all-inclusive vacation or book through a travel agency, you can get rock bottom pricing on your next family vacation.
