Cocktail Ornaments DIY

'Tis the season to be jolly! I had a fantastic idea for a cute DIY Cocktail Ornament and I couldn't wait to share! These clear ornaments are filled with your booze of choice and are ornamented with tags printed with classic cocktail recipes. They would be great to bring a little joy to your holiday festivities and even though the holidays are almost on us, they're easy to make in a pinch!
You just need to pick up a few inexpensive supplies + your alcohols of choice and you have a unique DIY! You can make these as gifts, as decor for your Christmas party, or even for an office party.
This idea came when I ran across these clear, plastic ornaments at Walmart for $.88 each. I had seen gin-filled ornaments, but not being a big fan of gin, I thought they would be great with different liquors inside to mix cocktails with.
I made tags for these with a classic cocktail recipe on each for whiskey, rum, gin, vodka, brandy, and tequila. I also included blank tags that you can fill out with your own favorite cocktail recipes. They'd be cute with wine inside, too. :)
Supplies:
- Clear plastic fillable ornaments in various sizes and shapes
- alcohols of your choice
- drinking glass to stand ornaments in while filling
- hot glue gun
- funnel
- tags (get the printable pdf here)
- ribbon or twine
1. Thoroughtly clean and dry the ornaments before filling, then place your ornament in a drinking glass or other container to hold it upright while you fill it.
2. Fill just to the top of the round bulb shape. Make sure the lip is clean and dry before the next step.
3. Make sure your hot glue gun is fully hot, then flood the entire inside of the cap with hot glue. This will plug the holes in the top and also give you enough glue to adhere to the inside and outside of the lip.
4. Immediately place the cap on and press down to secure.
5. Allow to cool and dry completely before continuing.
6. Print and cut out the tags you wish to use. Punch a hole in the top where indicated by the small white circle.
7. Cut a length of ribbon and thread through the tag.
8. Tie to your boozy ornament and you're all done!
I hope your holiday is merry and bright!
