The essential oils in this one are Peppermint and Pine and they're incredibly aromatic and effective. You could also sub in Eucalyptus for the same great results. Keep reading after the unboxing of this month's Simply Earth box for that recipe!

If you haven't seen Simply Earth yet, the Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly curated box of 4 essential oils with containers and ingredients to make 6-7 essential oil recipes.

They always have a timely theme and December's box is stuffed with recipes to help if you get a cold this winter and some fun holiday stocking stuffers!

They usually send me these boxes before they're up for sale to give you guys a peek at what will be available in the upcoming month, but I'm a little late getting this one up because of Thanksgiving, so this one is on sale right now!

The EO Recipe Boxes have been selling out about mid-month the last few months, so if you want this box you should grab it now. If it's sold out, they have a new Starter Box set that you'll get instead until the next month's box comes out.

If you'd like to see some of their past boxes, you can find all of my Simply Earth unboxings hereNow, let's unbox this month's box!

This month's box was shipped inside a bigger box because Simply Earth sent me a little goodie with it! I've now filled up 2 of their 36-oil Wooden Boxes so they sent me another one.

These boxes are so great for storing essential oils. It has dividers so they're not sliding around inside the box and it's opaque to help keep the light away from your essential oil collection. They're perfectly stackable and help me keep everything neat and organized.

DIY Peppermint & Pine Salve
Source: Simply Earth

Supplies:

  • 1/4 cup Coconut Oil (solid)
  • 1-1/2 tsp. Beeswax pellets
  • 7 drops Pine Scotch Essential Oil
  • 7 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 2 oz. tin

Directions:

1. Place the coconut oil and beeswax in a large glass bowl. You can microwave to melt or you can make a double boiler by placing the bowl over a small pot with about an inch of boiling water in it.

2. You want to let the oil mixture cool a bit before adding in your essential oils. Stir to combine.

3. Pour the mixture into a tin and allow to cool completely. You can also (carefully) place it in the fridge or freezer to speed up the process.

Ta-da! Easy-peasy. Add the sticky label to the lid and you're done.

To use: Apply to the chest for a natural decongestant.
