GreenUP Winter 2021 Unboxing

When we open the box, there are a few inserts telling us about all of the box products and their values and also how we can share the box via social media.

First out is a MamaP Artisan Bamboo Toothbrush & Case ($14).

"MamaP's bamboo toothbrush has a comfortable hold perfect to reach all areas of the mouth. The DuPont Nylon Bristles are gentle yet effectively remove plaque on your teeth and gums. An earth-friendly alternative that will keep your teeth healthy without creating unnecessary waste."

This is their LGBTQ+ Equality toothbrush, one of the 5 main causes that MamaP supports. Love it! You can also choose their toothbrushes (and other products) for Ocean Conservation, Save the Bees, Mental Health, or Women's Rights. ✊

Next out is a J&L Naturals Radiant Konjac Sponge ($7.99).

"Super gentle cleansing sponge that can be used on your face, all over your body, and even on babies. Makes the perfect makeup remover. Made from the root of the Konjac Plant, these plant-based sponges are reusable for up to 3 months, are 100% biodegradable, and helps remove CO2 from the atmosphere while growing."

I've used a konjac sponge before and liked it. It will make a great addition to my shower skincare routine and I love that it's compostable!

Next out is a Hav & Jord Deluxe Bamboo Floss + Refill ($14.90).

"Hav & Jord's deluxe bamboo floss is organic, vegan, and biodegradable. It comes in a beautiful, sustainable bamboo case for easy refills."

This bamboo floss case is neat but also very pretty! This set comes with 2 spools of bamboo charcoal floss so this should last you a while. Apparently, the Hav & Jord home goods store is coming soon so I couldn't link it, but I can't wait to see all of their offerings!

Next out is a J&L Naturals Exceptional Skin Serum in Hydrate ($29.99).

"Each skin serum was made with your unique skin in mind to only give you the best results. Bonus: they are fully recyclable once you are finished through our J&L Recycle Program. Regimens available in Balance, Calm, Hydrate, Shine, and Timeless."

I received the Face Salve in Calm in the last box and it smelled amazing. This skin serum is made with sunflower, sweet almond, EVOO, jojoba, argan, lavender, and rose geranium oils. I'm psyched to use it on my dry winter skin and it smells just lovely.

Next out is a HiBAR Moisturizing Conditioner Bar ($13.95).

"A true hydrating conditioner bar. If you have thicker or dryer hair, this is the place to start. With coconut oil and rice protein for extra hydration and nourishment.
  • 100% safe for colored or treated hair.
  • No plastic. (Duh)
  • Sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, silicone-free.
  • Leaping Bunny certified.
  • Curly Girl Method-friendly.
  • Vegan.
  • 2.9 oz conditioner bar lasts at least as long as a 32oz bottle.
  • Fresh citrus scent."

I have a couple of shampoo bars that I've been meaning to try out. I love that they're plastic-free but my hair requires conditioner. I haven't taken the plunge with them but now I don't have any excuses. It smells lovely and the size is nice; It should last quite a while.

"natural whitening / antiplaque / fresh breath, high performance safe + clean ingredients, EWG Verified, fluoride free, sls free, recyclable metal tube, 98% usa origin ingredients, premium natural peppermint oil flavoring, proudly made in USA, metal tube key included."

Whoa, I can smell the peppermint oil through the box! This toothpaste comes in a metal tube and also comes with a key to help you get out every last drop.

Next out is a Hav & Jord Luxe Bamboo Hairbrush ($19.90).

"This gorgeous plastic-free bamboo hairbrush is a high quality zero waste alternative to plastic brushes. A natural, elegant feel and functions exactly like conventional brushes. Cushion base is natural rubber. Brush pins and handle are pure bamboo. 100% biodegradable. Hand crafted where material sourced for fewer carbon miles."

I've never seen a bamboo hairbrush! I wondered about the brush cushion because it looks and flexes just like a plastic brush cushion, but it's natural rubber. I'm loving seeing all of the sustainable bamboo innovations coming onto the market now that there's such a demand for it.
