We love our Family Movie Nights and this time we're watching Peter Rabbit! In honor of our movie pick, I made these scrumptious Marshmallow Kettle Corn Cottontails for everyone to munch on during the film. They're bite-sized, gooey popcorn treats that are so easy, they take just minutes to throw together.

I used to love popcorn balls as a kid. They were delicious, but the biggest drawback was getting a bite out of those huge, hard candy balls.

These popcorn balls are made with marshmallows, so they're much softer and perfectly sized for two good bites. They're also made with vanilla and butter, so they taste absolutely decadent! We usually have popcorn for our family movie nights, and these were a special treat.

Since Peter Rabbit just came out, it was the perfect choice for a family night in. If you haven't seen it yet, you really should. It is such a cute movie! Whether it's a movie night during the week or if you're celebrating a special event like a birthday or Mother's Day, Peter Rabbit is the perfect movie pick for the whole family.

I got the Peter Rabbit Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Combo and I'm so glad that I did. My daughter loved it so much, she'll be watching it on repeat and with the digital copy, she can watch it anywhere on her tablet. I'm sure she'll wish she had these Kettle Corn Cottontails every time. :)

I wasn't exaggerating about how easy these are to make. ALL of the ingredients are microwaved. :)

I used 2 bags of Orville Redenbacher's Kettle Korn in this recipe and it was perfect. Did you know that they're the only leading brand of microwave popcorn with no artificial preservatives, flavors, or dyes in any of its popcorn?

While I was at the store I grabbed a few Kid Cuisine All Star Chicken Breast Nugget Meals to make our night a little easier.

Kid Cuisine makes all of your kids' favorites, many with full servings of vegetables. They're easy and satisfying, perfect to get to your family movie nights quicker!

You can grab everything you need for your Family Movie Night at Walmart.

Look for the Peter Rabbit display near the front of the store, then grab Kid Cuisine in the freezer section and Orville Redenbacher's popcorn in the snack aisle!

You can really use any flavor or popcorn for these, but the Kettle Corn was ah-mazing!!!

  • 8 cups of popped Orville Redenbacher's Kettle Korn (about 2 bags)
  • 3 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave for 60-90 seconds, or until completely melted. Add in the vanilla and stir.

2. Add in the mini marshmallows and toss in the butter mixture.

3. Microwave on high for 45 seconds. Stir and microwave for another 45 seconds, or until melted.

4. Add the popped kettle corn.

5. Toss in the marshmallow mixture until coated.

6. Spray your hands with spray oil (you won't taste it!) or grease with butter and softly roll small balls about 2" in diameter and place on wax paper to cool.

This recipe will make approximately 40 Kettle Corn Cottontails.

They should cool and set for about 30 minutes before eating or can be made ahead a few days and stored in an airtight container.

I hope you enjoy your family movie night!
