We're mid-way through the Mommy & Me Homemade Spa Day Series, and the next DIY creation is a Rosemary & Mint Hair Detangler Spray. It smells heavenly, and while I did create this for my daughter, this homemade hair detangler is not just for kids. Adults can also use it whenever you need to freshen your hair or add a little moisture before you brush.

While the initial investment in purchasing natural ingredients for your own homemade beauty products may be higher than just grabbing a bottle off the shelf at the store, you will find that it is much more cost-effective to make your own as the ingredients last a long time. You are also leaving alcohol, sulfates, artificial scents, and other harmful chemicals out of your hair and body.

Finally, besides just giving your homemade detangling spray a wonderful smell, essential oils have many other benefits for your hair. I have given you a list of some of the most popular - use them to create your own unique combination.

Or use your favorite combination from the oils below!

For added shine:
Rosemary
Basil
Lavender
Peppermint

For dry scalp:

To deter Lice:
Tea Tree essential oil
Chamomile essential oil

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in an 8 oz. spray bottle, shake well to combine.

Easy-peasy! I picked up this trigger style aluminum bottle at the dollar store and we really like it, it sprays a fine mist and the trigger is easy for one handed styling.
