I believe that everything is better with bacon. Breakfast? Biscuits? Casseroles? Yup. All made more delicious with the addition of bacon. If you believe this too then I have the perfect post for you because it's all about making and serving bacon! You'll get delicious recipes and ideas plus an exciting giveaway for the ultimate bacon lover's prize: a year of free bacon! Keep reading for the whole delicious scoop. [GIVEAWAY CLOSED]

The holidays are a time for family and friends and for delicious treats. Have you ever considered making a Bacon Bar for your holiday guests? Smithfield came up with the Smithfield Bacon Bar site as a resource for everything you need to put together your own fantastic-looking bar including amazing recipes, decor tips, and even printable tags for you to customize. How cute is that?!

There are more than 10 different varieties of Smithfield bacon and tons of recipes for bacon treats that it seems like a natural for bacon lovers. Plus, who doesn't like bacon?! Your guests will be thrilled to sample different Smithfield bacon varieties, like Peppered Brown Sugar, Sea Salt Caramel, and Caramelized Bourbon Bacon, and pair them with fluffy biscuits, sweet jams, and more. It's a twist that your guests will drool over.

To make your fun labels, simply print onto thick card stock and cut out desired shape (there are a few to choose from.) Use twine or ribbon to tie the labels onto jars or attach to a mini clothespin and clip it to one of your bacon creations.

I even got in on the fun with my own bacon-licious idea and it was a hit with the family.  I made Bacon "chips" with a variety of dipping sauces.

I thought up 7 different delicious bacon combos and labeled them all on a blackboard with chalk. Your guests can try them all to find their favorite bacon flavor combos.

To make the chips, I cut my Smithfield Cherrywood Smoked Bacon slices into 4 pieces each, then fried them in a pan under a heavy pot to keep them from curling up. If you have a bacon weight, use that instead of the pot. So easy and so delicious.

Once cooked, lay them on paper towels to drain and place them in a parchment-lined bowl to serve. Easy-peasy!

There are so many flavors that go with bacon that you can come up with some of your favorites to try. Some flavor ideas:
  • maple syrup
  • honey
  • honey mustard
  • dijon
  • Sriracha
  • Sriracha sesame mayo
  • sweet chili sauce
  • parmesan ranch
  • country gravy
  • red eye gravy
  • guacamole
  • creamy cheese dips
  • onion dip
  • BBQ sauce

Any flavor combo you'd like to try is sure to be delicious, because bacon is always delicious. With anything. Or by itself. Mmmmm, bacon.
